General Features

Monitor Type
Studio monitors can be passive or active. Passive monitors require an outside amplification of the audio signal. Active monitors have a built-in amplifier to provide proper output to the speakers.

This is the maximum power rating of the studio monitors. For passive monitors, this is the maximum amount of wattage that the drivers are rated at. For active monitors, this is the maximum amount of wattage that the built-in amplifier sends to each driver.
