DLS Reference Series
The DLS Reference speakers eliminate listening fatigue, and offer an excellent listening experience that only a DLS speaker can provide. Being 100 watts RMS, these 3-way coaxial speakers pair well with a 4-channel amplifier for maximum clarity and reliability. The external crossover will separate high, mid and low frequencies to their respective drivers. The 1" tweeter offers very quick response combined with a subtle presence for an excellent all around sound. Try the DLS Reference Series for your next quality system and you will not regret your purchase.

I was on the lookout for some large rear speakers for big sound. I stumbled upon these at SE and was immediately interested by the large 7/10 size and the immense magnets. This set also has a separate crossover box which is not common for rear speakers in the 6/9 and 7/10 sizes. My main intent was to get big midbass sound out of the speakers, so I dropped them into a set of enclosures also purchased at SE, and set them in the rear foot wells of my ride, powered by 100 Watts per channel.
The low bass had been completed neutered from these speakers. Try as I might, I could not get good bass, or any bass for that matter. DLS has simply filtered out all of the bass frequencies from at least 100HZ all the way down. Even jacking up the amplifier and head unit EQ made no difference. This was particularly disappointing after getting plenty of good bass from a less expensive 7/10 from a different manufacturer.
The tweeter sounded merely good, but for the money and the separate crossover components, I was looking for more detail in the high registers.
The midrange and midbass though, sounded pretty good.
Bottom line, this speaker did everything between the bass and the high frequencies pretty well. But the bass is non existent and the treble is too reticent with no detail.

To the reviewer above there lay your problem, don't use the crossover that comes with the speakers for the woofer side DLS has it set up to B used with their subs and to B tuned for mid bass in that kind of setup! I have heard these in a ported enclosure and they sound like good 8 inch subs when properly crossed over! Example if you have a pickup truck and use 4 of these in each corner with subs your going to blow your head off and die a happy man!!
To B clear I don't own these but have seen and heard them properly tuned!
