Tsunami LITEWAVE Series CapacitorCar audio capacitors are used to store energy for the amplifier to draw on demand and help you get the most from your vehicle's electrical system. High power amplifiers draw large amounts of current from your vehicle's battery putting a heavy burden on your alternator. Capacitors will take the strain off of your vehicles alternator thus giving a longer life span.
The Tsunami LITEWAVE Series 2 Farad Digital Capacitor is perfect for systems up to 2000 watts. It features a bright blue LCD digital display with 8 flashing blue LED's that pulse with the charge/discharge cycles. This capacitor uses ring terminals so it is compatible with any gauge power/ground cable you already may have installed in your vehicle. The PP92UM-CAP includes an extra charging and all the necessary mounting hardware needed for a secure installation.

Well I have installed caps before, but most were 1F and they didn't have the nice Allen wrench hook ups like this one. They also didn't have a built in distribution block. I connected the 4 gauge cable from my battery to this thing, then to my amp distribution blocks, and ran the 8 gauge to my amps. I did the same thing with the ground. Ran the 4 gauge ground to the car and then to the cap. Then to the distribution block, and then 8 gauge to the amps. This thing was a breeze to install, and it charges really quick. The meter on this one is quick to report and a lot better than some of the cheaper caps I have tried before. I have a 1000 Watt Profile Amp running to my mids and highs and a 700 Watt Mono Profile Amp running to my subs. My subs are wired 2 ohm. Those wattage levels are max watts. I haven't seen any dimming of the lights, and both the battery and the cap are reading 13.5 when the car is sitting at idle and the system is pumping. So far this looks like a good buy! I didn't get a chance to see what voltage levels were at hwy speeds cause my son had to leave right after I installed it. We will see if this thing keeps the battery from dying anymore.

Plenty of capacitance for a lower power system (900 watts) and so easy to connect to external distribution blocks and amplifiers with its built in distribution block. No extra and expensive D-rings required. Nice blue LED voltage display easy to read from a distance. Mounting feet are very secure and look great. It even chirps if you accidently reverse polarity of the power connections!

Supporting a Crunch PZA 1400.2 powering 2 Kenwood 10" subs. Will add a second 4 channel amp to bolster the 6x8's that are currently powered by the head unit. Easy install - Head lights do not flicker, and Voltage does not drop below 13.7 volts. So worth it.
Definitely doing its job and keeping the Amplifier supplied with all juice it needs to keep those subs pounding hard.
