Alpine SWR-T10

I have it mounted in an enclosure with just under 1 cubic ft volume, 12 gauge speaker cable, and powered by a Rockford Fosgate 800a2 at 960W x 1 at 4 ohms.

It kicks about as hard as any other thin 10" I've ever heard, but most importantly so so accurate/clean.

My last setup had the same amp powering a JBL 15" GTi in an enclosure with about 3.5 cubic feet of volume, and ported. So I definitely wasn't expecting the same level of boom. But what I lost in boom I more than made up in accuracy and tightness.

A little expensive for what it is, but it's Alpine Type R level stuff after all. It's only started breaking in (have only had it running about a week) recently, but is exactly what you think it will be, a thin 10", that's super accurate, and gives you boom like a solid non-thin 10".

Alpine SWR T10 Subwoofer

Great subwoofer for .43 cubic feet and with about 300-600 watts RMS it puts out some nice bass. This sub does a decent job of fitting in most places just make sure you get the cubic feet as close to spec as possible.

Not Impressed

I would not recomend this sub to anyone. I had mine hooked up by a certified alpine dealer to a 1.600 alpine pdx. That one lasted 2 days after the break-in process. Sent it back and they determined it wasn't blown and gave me a store credit. Purchased another one. Same thing happened, sent it back, recieved store credit. After reading some other reviews on different sites, the same thing is happening to other people. Strikes me as odd since Alpine is known to be a great manufacture. This time I learned from my mistake and have just purchased a JL 13 TW5.

Better power up first!!!

Well, I just got this sub, and for the price you would expect a lot more. It only requires a very small space, and I am kinda "meh" at the performance. If you want this sub to sound even decent, you had better throw some serious wattage at it, like at least 500w. I had to go with this sub because nothing else would fit under the seat in my truck, and wouldn't recommend it unless you are really pressed for space.

SHALLOW ALPINE?

To begin with, i've come to the realization that you can almost never satisfy a true basshead. I have a JL audio 13.5 fathom in my home and it rocks the house! I recently bought a new subaru forester xt turbo. I knew i would do a system, but wanted to retain my utilty. Looking i found the alpine shallow. I measured my space under my pasenger seat, figured i could make a 5" x 8" x 8" box and the alpine. [ had a jl 1000/1 amp) i knew i could turn the gain down a lot. Anyway, it didn't fit!, after buying it and a custom box. Now what? Finally decided i have to get a small wedge type box and keep it in my trunk area (which i didn't want to do) so i buy a nice wedge box and mounted it behind the back seat. Sounded ok, pretty tight bass, just not buttpounding deep. It did seem to take a huge amount of power. I tried all kinds of settings with all kinds of power and it just did not do it for me. Here is what i've had in my car!

Jl 1000/1 - alpine 10" shallow
Jl 1000/1 = alpine r series (1243d) ported box sounded great,
Jl 500/1 - alp r 1243 - sounded awsum
Jl gmax 1200 - jl w7 pro wedge - sounded nice - boomy

Many other variations of amps and subs because i still have all of them. Finally i have a setup that i am satisfied with. It's a jl 500/1 and a 12" jl audio w6 in a pro wedge box. It sounds fantastic. Finally a system i will keep. It's a fairly shallow box and leaves me a lot of space. My head unit is a kenwood excelon dnx 9980

Awesome

Its a great sub for the price especially when you have limited space. I wound up building my own fiberglass box for my 06 Durango. They hit hard and sound great.

Great sub

I have this sub in a ported enclosure in a Tacoma. Sounds great. I was amazed at the bass coming out of this sub considering how thin it is.

Pretty Good Sub

I have 560 watts RMS going to this sub (Kicker IX1000) in a sealed box which is just barely larger than maximum recommended specs. It hits, but seems like it could stand to have a little more power going to it. As another review for it on here says, I would definitely go no lower than around 550 watts rms to this sub. I like it, it hits and sounds very smooth in delivery. For comparison's sake, I also have a Kicker 8" L7 in another sealed enclosure. They work well together, but between the the two, I like the Alpine SWR-T10. After a lot of research, I believe this is the best slim 10" out there.
