The ND-BC1 is a rear-view camera as an accessory to the AVIC-N1 / AVIC-N2 navigation/CD receiver/monitor. When your vehicle is in reverse, the AVIC-N2 / AVIC-N1's monitor screen automatically switches to the view from the ND-BC1, allowing you to see what's behind you. This Item is great, it covers all the area behind your vehicle in great view. If you have kids, this thing can be a life saver, keep you from running over toys or anything else you can't typically see with standard mirrors, By far an essential in my current and any future car's. Works awesome with my AVIC-Z1

This camera is great! I works well at night. I advise anyone with Pioneer monitors of any type to add this to your system.
