For small venue startups it gets the job done. I cannot spend 3000.00 plus for a pro quality stage lighting/spot. If you take care of it it will get the job done.

We bought this for our local Parks and Rec 'Diner Theater' productions that we do in rather small space, thinking it would only reach a distance of about 35-40 feet. Well, we ended up also using it at our local high school auditorium since they had recently undergone major renovations and lost their big spot light in the process. The auditorium has 999 seats (to give an idea of the size of the building!) and the spot not only made it from the lighting booth but was strong enough to be seen even when the stage had full white lighting. If I were able to post one of the pictures to show the distance and brightness, everyone would be surprised and wouldn't hesitate to purchased this spot. As for ease of use - we have kids in the program in middle and senior high that are able to use it without a problem. We are truly amazed and very pleased with this product!! Highly recommended!!!

If you are looking for a very simple spotlight, this is a great buy. The focus and blackout functions are very easy to operate and the throw is long considering the relatively low-power bulb. It takes just a minute to set up, but you will need your own tripod as this one does not have one included. For me, that was a benefit as I prefer to have it hanging from a tall tripod rather than sitting on a short one. I wish the housing was a little smaller, but the size and weight do keep movement smooth when actively following a moving subject. This is a handy light for the purpose.
