The RTS12-04 is one of MTX Audio's new 2011 Road Thunder RTS series subwoofers. The woofer has a power handling of 500 watts peak and 250 watts RMS and has been specifically design to withstand extreme amounts of power without failure or damage to the woofer. The woofer features a polypropylene woofer cone and high-roll rubber surround for increase durability, strength, performance, and greater volume displacement. For increased power handling an 8-layer 2" aluminum coil is used which enables the woofer to perform consistently at higher volume levels. The use of Spider Plateau Venting cools the voice coil directly for increased performance and power handling. The RTS subwoofer also features an Asymmetrical Linear Driver System (ALDS) that allows higher output with less distortion by creating constant linear movement that increases performance and sound quality. This RTS subwoofer was designed to be perfectly paired with an RTS amplifier and will deliver quality, rich and responsive bass that is often not seen by other woofers of its class.

Good Quality
I think it was a great purchase at that price. It sounds clean, especially when you give it some power in a factory-spec box. I run mine on 250W RMS in a 2.3 cu.ft. box tuned at 34Hz with a 4 inch PSP Aeroport. It gets pretty loud and low for a single 12. I definately would not buy it for $180, though. At that price point, you can get something that will handle a lot more power and sound just as good.

Sounds great in a Atrend 12LSV 2.5 Cu Ft ported enclosure! Running off an old school Soundstream Reference 200 (100x1 @4ohms).
Well worth the money, and sounds surprisingly good on low power in a bigger box.
This is for my garage...will be running a Tri-mode setup with this amp and a Kenwood KPX-T120 Tri-mode x-over and Pioneer 6.5" 2 ways in Atrend "BBOX" 6.5 sub boxes.
