I was very skeptical about these. I ordered them them I was about to send them back. I HOOKED THEM UP TO GLX 60.4...RUNNING 60 WATTS RMS JUST A FEW MORE THAN WHAT THE SET CALLS FOR, BUT ITS NICE AND CLEAR. IM GONNA ADD A NEWER HEAD UNIT..BETTER EQ....CANT WAIT. MAXXSONICS GOOD SPEAKERS

Pros:
Maxxsonics makes quality products up and down their different brands. These speakers are no exception. Comes with everything you need to install them, endless tweeter mount options. Crossovers are small and well labelled. Nothing felt "Overly Cheap" even though they are a bargain.
They were powered by just my Sony CDX-GT740UI head unit, and they played like champs once they were broken in. I have to agree with other reviewers, the bass response needs help from a good sub, but I Xover my mids fairly high anyway. They were clear and pronounced. Guess what, this set is less than $40!!! I'm impressed with them. Hands down.
I was about to put a Rockford T-400 on them, didn't happen so I can't say what they sound like well powered. I'm sure I would not have been disappointed.
Cons:
Tweeters are waayyy too harsh! The EQ on the head unit helped a lot, but still needs either a good crossover or some in line bass blockers. A tweeter attenuation option would have been nice. But yeah, they are $40.
BIGGEST ISSUE: One tweeter died on me a week into ownership. Didn't burn, didn't get wet, just died on me. I know these things happen ever so often, so I'm not upset about it. Just wish I didn't have to return them.
Oh well. Still impressive for some $40 6-1/2 components.
