Feel the Difference with 1 Punch
Sonic Electronix has the brand new 2011 model of the Rockford Fosgate P1S412 Punch Stage 1 Subwoofer. This woofer has a peak power rating of 500 watts and an RMS rating of 250 watts. Just like all Rockford Fosgate products, this subwoofer is built with quality and durability. The P1S412 features a high modulus kevlar reinforced paper cone with a high density NBR half-roll surround. The 10 AWG nickel plated push terminals with keep a secure connection at all times while resisting corrosion. The Punch Series 12" woofer also comes equipped with 2" 4-layer high temp voice coil, poly cotton spider, extended pole piece, bumped backplate, and a proprietary spider venting/cooling technique that helps keep subwoofer operating at a safe temperature. Once again, Rockford has made a top notch product at an affordable price.
Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former
By using an anodized aluminum voice coil former on their subwoofers, Rockford Fosgate is able to dissipate heat from the voice coil more efficiently. A hot voice coil can melt the adhesive bonds, which will lead to eventual subwoofer failure. The aluminum voice coil former acts as a heat-sink to dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil cool during high SPL conditions.
Conforms to CEA-2031
Rockford Fosgate has built this subwoofer to conform to the CEA-2031 loudspeaker power handling industry standards. This means that you can trust the subwoofer to have the capacity to safely handle the continuous (RMS) power rating. Having a CEA-2031 power handling is important when matching a subwoofer to an amplifier because the power ratings are accurate.
Stitched Tinsel Leads
To improve the reliability and performance by reducing fatigue and possible shorting, Rockford Fosgate has stitched the tinsel leads to the spider. The multipoint periodic stitching lead wires reduce the mass of the tinsel leads to spread the stress over a greater area. This improves the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.

I have one of these in a ported box running off a p300-1, i have the 4ohm woofer. To start off with do not, i repeat do not over power this woofer it will fry it instantly. Hooked a t1000-1bd and it lasted 15 min. The woofer would get extremely hot just on the p300, and would distort after a good hard 20 min of playing, the woofer has great mid and low bass but the deep stuff is just out of its league. I know what your thinking well ya its going to fry on a t1000 but i put a sundown sa10 on it and it played for months.

This was my first sub woofer I have ever got for my truck and I was very pleased with its performance. I paired it with a kenwood 350watt amp. The sub was way underpowered. It was only getting 150rms. The sub woofer had a fairly good sized magnet considering its only a P1. However it is time to upgrade so i just ordered a Rockford Fosgate T0 2 Ohm 12" sub for Christmas. This product is recommended for beginner system.
