I and a friend with more experience with radar detectors used my new GX65 on a 3,000 mile trip from LA to Salt Lake, Colorado and Arizona.
Prior experience was with ~$100 detectors and the difference is dramatic. Most impressive is the longer range and minimization of false alarms. When this thing goes off, you know to take it seriously.
I read reviews to choose the G65 and they were right!

I've had the GX65 for over six months. It is one of the best radar detectors I have used. I had a K-40 in my last car and the GX65 works better--both because it sits higher up for a better signal and it is more reliable. Highly recommended.
