Equalizer Specifications

Type of Equalizer
This determines the way the equalizer processes the signal from the source unit. A parametric equalizer allows to you adjust the center point of the frequency band you are adjusting as well the bandwidth which can be narrowed or widened. A graphic equalizer has fixed frequency bands and bandwidth and only the frequency bands can be adjusted. A digital equalizer uses a software program to tune your system.
A graphic equalizer typically has more adjustable bands and is less expensive, whereas a parametric will have fewer bands but offer a greater level of control and provide more tuning options. Digital equalizers will tune your system with the most detail and precision but require a computer and are typically a little higher in price.
Graphic
Equalizer Bands
The number of graphic or parametric equalizer bands the receiver has. The better the EQ, the more likely you will be able to "tweak" your sounds to your desire.

Built-in Crossover

A crossover is a type of filtering system that permits only certain frequencies to play. A Low-Pass (LP) crossover allows only frequencies below its setting to get through which is good in the case of some subwoofers. A High-Pass(HP) filter allows frequencies above its setting to pass through, this is normally used on speakers.

When a crossover is set to FULL it means no filtering is added and the full frequency spectrum is allowed through the amplifier. Filtering is important because feeding a speaker frequencies it cannot reproduce effectively creates distortion.

Built-in Bass Reconstruction

Great product!

October 10, 2011

Works as mentioned. Matches perfectly to my Massive Audio N2. I'm able to fine tune my system with the whole 7-band. The 7-volt driver can amplify my system so much, so I was able to turn the gain down on my amps to reduce the alternator noise by A LOT. The only thing that I found disappointing was the color of the LEDs. I had a whole blue scheme going on my interior and the blue on the EQ looked more like a violet- and the red looked more like an orange. other than that. I loved it.

WORLD of difference in sound quality!!

March 11, 2012

I originally bought this for fine tuning purposes to suit my listening preferences I can't get from ordinary head unit bass, mid, and high adjustments. What I didn't expect was such a huge difference in how much better my system sounds with it!! Well worth the money.

Adding an eq to your system is a good way to go if you are looking to get the most out of your system. I chose this one for a couple reasons, A) Massive puts out quality products B) The Line Drivers and separate sub volume, C) Has multiple colors to choose from D) has a separate aux in form the HU. The only flaw in this unit is the fuse holder. Mine broke and I ended up ruling the eq out last. (Couple hours of testing) However this is a quality unit, and i would recommend it to anyone!

I have an alpine cde-hd137bt head, w/3 band eq, sud vol. ect. Got this unit to further control, love the looks, however knobs are too small to work for me, plus, the indicator marked plus freq. are not backlit, making it harder to adjust properly or cant see to adjust. Plus, if indash mounted one cannot adjust cross, or aux out gain, or light's i have less bass, or not the same quality as before, when using head unit only, although i have only been adjusting it for two days, also i did have a professional installer, think i will probably remove, however i do suggest this unit to anyone, who has a head unit with no sub out, or eq in head. I do not have any engine noise though, probably because all my amps are Alpine.
