Feel the Difference with 1 Punch
Sonic Electronix has the brand new 2011 model of the Rockford Fosgate P1S8-8 Punch Stage 1 Subwoofer. This woofer has a peak power rating of 400 watts and an RMS rating of 200 watts. Just like all Rockford Fosgate products, this subwoofer is built with quality and durability. The P1S8-8 features a high modulus kevlar reinforced paper cone with a high density NBR half-roll surround. The 10 AWG nickel plated push terminals with keep a secure connection at all times while resisting corrosion. The Punch Series 8" woofer also comes equipped with 2" 4-layer high temp voice coil, poly cotton spider, extended pole piece, bumped backplate, and a proprietary spider venting/cooling technique that helps keep subwoofer operating at a safe temperature. Once again, Rockford has made a top notch product at an affordable price.
Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former
By using an anodized aluminum voice coil former on their subwoofers, Rockford Fosgate is able to dissipate heat from the voice coil more efficiently. A hot voice coil can melt the adhesive bonds, which will lead to eventual subwoofer failure. The aluminum voice coil former acts as a heat-sink to dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil cool during high SPL conditions.
Conforms to CEA-2031
Rockford Fosgate has built this subwoofer to conform to the CEA-2031 loudspeaker power handling industry standards. This means that you can trust the subwoofer to have the capacity to safely handle the continuous (RMS) power rating. Having a CEA-2031 power handling is important when matching a subwoofer to an amplifier because the power ratings are accurate.
Stitched Tinsel Leads
To improve the reliability and performance by reducing fatigue and possible shorting, Rockford Fosgate has stitched the tinsel leads to the spider. The multipoint periodic stitching lead wires reduce the mass of the tinsel leads to spread the stress over a greater area. This improves the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.

I purchased this subwoofer along with a Kenwood 300 watt amp. And built myself a box to fit under the seat of my 05 F-150 crew cab. The box has .26 cubic feet of air space/sealed. There was a sale going on with the 10" Rockford but I couldn't get the box big enough and make it fit just right, so i had to compromise. And that doesn't mean i'm getting less bump. this little 8 inch subwoofer hits hard. You would never guess its an 8". I am so impressed with Rockford, they are amazing, the range of highs and lows, and the pure power of this little 8" sub. 2 thumbs up!

My little toyota truck was boring so i grabbed a couple of cheap amps and a 10" box with 2 6x9 speakers in the door, it was cool but flat, this sub hits hard and low with the 400 watts i got goin behind the seat, im no pro but my bass demanding cd collection thanks me for the upgrade. Pros, good price, quality bass for real. Cons, i did have to buy a nicer enclosed box to really make it shine, i needed one anyway. Thanks Sonic i couldnt have done it without you my entire cab, face, and my beer is thumpin solid and long way below the hertz i expected, wow.
