The front USB input quit working within 2 months.
The display would flicker on and off after 3 months.
The unit would not power up sometimes after 4 months.
Unit returned for store credit......
While the unit was installed it had horrible sound quality,
I would not recommend this to a friend !!

Purchased this radio on-line from Walmart and shipped to store. Also paid for the 3 year extended warranty. And then paid $130 to have it professionally installed at B*st B*y. A month later later the radio (am and fm) stop working. Called the Extended Warranty number and since it was within 90 days, to return it to the store for an Exchange, I said they don't carry it in the store and she said that I HAD to go into the store to deal with it. So trek into the store and the local assistant manager (who was great to work with) confirmed that not only don't they carry it in-stock, but it's a discontinued item so he can't EVER get a replacement. So we both call the Extended Warranty number again (with the store manager leading the charge) and their solution was to offer to refund purchase price... but then we're out the $130 installation fee (they wouldn't cover that). The ONLY solution they said was to call Boss Audio directly and they would handle the return/repair. If I thought things were bad before, it only got worse...
Boss Customer service said that we can ship it in to them for repair... and it would take 1-3 weeks AND we had to pay the shipping there PLUS an additional $20 for shipping it BACK. I explained this product was installed for barely a month and should be covered... he said the broken parts and labor would be covered (gee thanks!) but that their "free return" period had EXPIRED because they start counting it from the day the product was actually ORDERED, not the day it was received by us... so that week while it was being shipped to the local Walmart counted against us and cost us $40 in shipping! NO WAY AROUND IT he said. The Walmart store manager was so amazed he actually gave us a $20 gift card to help cover the cost, even tho it had nothing to do with Walmart at this point.
So the radio got shipped to BOSS on December 14th (delivery confirmation). Wait a day or two and then called to check on it... they confirmed it had been received the day before but that it was "on hold" since we didn't have proof of purchase. I asked them when they were planning on notifying us that was a prerequisite... but emailed them the receipt IMMEDIATELY and got a return email back confirming it had been received and was now in queue for repair.
It's now December 27th and I call to check the status of the repair. I didn't have my RMA but gave them my name. No record. We tried several times, no record. After several minutes of searching emails for the RMA or some info, I asked if they could look it up any other way and the dolt says "oh, ya... by your address..." (DOIH). They find it instantly and discover they had slaughtered the spelling of my last name. He fixed that. As for the status of the repair... well, it apparently hasn't even been LOOKED at yet by a technician. NOT EVEN LOOKED AT YET, just sitting in some pile waiting for someone to confirm it's broken and issue a new one. UGH. I asked if there was any way to expedite the process (it's Christmas and the kid is going crazy without his stereo in his car!) and was told "nope. 1-3 weeks from the time we receive it and it wasn't put into their system until Dec 19th" I asked if they could update me with the status and he said "nope" - nothing to do but just wait.
A product failing 30 days after installation and having the manufacturer's warranty being crappier than the 3 year extended service plan... this is terrible customer service and NOT the way to run a company... While the kid likes the radio itself (for the 30 some days it was actually working), neither of us would EVER recommend a Boss Audio Product to ANYONE, ever. We all know even the best products can fail, but that's when superior customer service and support should kick in to make the return/exchange/repair as easy and painless as possible... I want to purchase from a company that stands behind its product enough to at least cover return shipping on a brand new device that fails after 30 days!!

CD player is garbage, the sound quality sucks, picture quality sucks, Aux doesn't work, flips up and down at random times. But I guess you get what you pay for, this is over priced should be cheaper. Never purchasing Boss again, and friend has hell with his too.

I have a 2005 Saleen Mustang that I roasted a sub woofer. Searched around locally and priced this speaker for just about 100.00 dollars more than I found at Sonic. Order was shipped right away and (free Shipping) you just can't beat that deal ANYWHERE!!!
Thanks Sonic!!
