Inputs & Outputs

Total Number of Inputs
This is the total number of input connections that go into the unit.
Total Number of Outputs
This is the total number of output connections that the unit will produce.
Number of Combo Input Jacks
The number of combo input jacks on the device. Combo input jacks are a combination of XLR 3-pin and 1/4" TRS phone type inputs, enabling the user to choose one or the other based on their needs.
Number of Analog Inputs
This is the number of available analog inputs on the device
Inputs
These are the analog inputs for the studio monitor.
Outputs
These are the type of outputs on the unit.
Coaxial Digital Audio Inputs
This is the number of coaxial digital audio inputs that the receiver accepts.
Optical Digital Audio Inputs
This is the number of digital optical audio signals the receiver accepts.
Digital Inputs
The type of digital inputs available on the unit.
Digital Outputs
These are the types of digital outputs available on the unit.
Number of Preamps
This is the number of preamps available on the unit.
Independent Monitor Level Control
The abillity to control the main monitor level output.
MIDI Connections
The configuration of input and output connections on a MIDI controller.
USB
The ability for the MIDI controller to interface with a MIDI device via USB.
Headphone Output
If the unit is capable of outputting audio to a pair of headphones, this is the type of jack that makes the connection.

Digital Specifications

Computer Connection
The computer connections for the audio interface to transmit data and/or audio.
Sample Rate
Sample rate defines the number of samples per second (or per other unit) taken from a continuous signal to make a discrete signal.
Bit Depth
Bit depth represents the bits of information that are recorded for each sample. Bit depth directly corresponds to the resolution of each sample in a set of digital audio data. Common examples of bit depth include 16-bit CD audio, and DVD-Audio that can support up to 24-bit audio.

Audio Specifications

Nominal Input Level
The nominal level is the level at which the device was designed to operate for the greatest dynamic range.
THD (Total Harmonic Distortion)
The amount of change in harmonic content of the signal as it is amplified. A lower figure indicates less change and a more accurate amp. THD below 0.10% is inaudible.
Output Impedance
This is the amount of impedance that the microphone allows.
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).

System Requirements

Operating System
This is (these are) the operating system(s) that the device needs to function properly.
USB Input
This feature refers to whether or not the receiver features an input to connect a USB device via standard USB or mini-USB. This is the number of cores inside the computer. The more cores, the faster and more efficient the computer will be able to process information.
CPU Speed
This is the speed of the processor inside the computer. The higher the speed, the faster the computer can process information.
RAM
RAM (or 'random access memory') is an amount of temporary memory that your computer uses to perform common tasks as quickly as possible.
Available Hard Disk Space
This is the minimum hard disk space requirement for any software that might come with this device.

General Specifications
