A Distinguished Look with Cerwin-Vega's VEGA Series Subwoofers
When you look at the VEGA124.2 and see a bright red rubber surround, you instantly know it can only be the infamous Cerwin-Vega VEGA series subwoofer. The VEGA series subwoofers are the most recognizable Cerwin-Vega subwoofers and are available in an 8", 10", 12" and 15" size woofer. With each size having the option of either a Dual 2 ohm or Dual 4 ohm voice coil. With this many available sizes and different voice coil impedance the possibilities are endless and the VEGA series subwoofers are sure to satisfy any bass reproduction need. VEGA woofers have a power rating of 500 watts peak and 250 watts of continuous RMS power. The woofers feature a composite polypropylene design that offers perfect weight to strength ratio to increase the durability of the subwoofers and improve performance. Its rubber surround allows for high amounts of excursion, while the rolled aluminum former increase thermal capabilities to improve power handling. The woofers also feature cross-flow window venting that reduces voice coil temperatures and radial contact convex domes that reduce cone flex and minimize distortion. The VEGA series subwoofers really are the "face" of Cerwin-Vega and for this reason have been designed and manufactured to reproducing rich, full and tight bass for any type of music and in any type of vehicle.

These subwoofers are the first subwoofers that I ever purchased 2 years ago. I put 3 of them connected to an arc amp and around 700 rms bridged in individual sealed boxes. They hit pretty damn hard and made my car rattle so loud that I thought something was wrong with the subwoofers when I bumped it real loud. A year later I got a custom ported box tuned to 32 Hz built by DAVE THE BOX GUY shipped to me. Now it Bumps so much more, sounds so much cleaner, flexes my entire car. If i put a fistful of change on the top of my car and it JINGLE JINGLE JINGLES till it jumps onto the ground. Now i'm telling the truth here, A policemen from a Different town knocked on my door and said that if I were to be caught bumping in town that I would be arrested and fined. Kind of scary but a good sign showing i'm bumping loud.
These subs are still working 2 years after I have bought them. They have somehow survived the constant abuse from me- an amateur. for example Tuning the amp by ear with no knowledge of how to tune an amp. I have read doing that can ruin a setup really quick.
These subs are very inexpensive and easy to power. GET A GOOD BOX FOR THEM ITS CRUCIAL! Sonic Electronix helped me out EVERY step of the way. You will always have someone to help you when you call, weather you have or have not yet boughten anything. 5/5 for Sonic and the business they conduct.

i have had two of these subs for seven months now and i started with a sealed box and i was not very impressed. i bought a 70$ ported box here on sonic and wow, these will actually hit hard. i have them hooked up to a 1000W amp. if you are looking for lots of bass i would not suggest these, if you are looking for a fair amount of bass and it be clean, i would suggest these subs with a ported/vented box. make sure you hook these up to a high quality amp!

I hooked this up to an MTX Road Thunder 250 Mono amp on a 2ohm load, it hit hard dang hard in a sealed box. Then a week later it quit. I guess MTX was too much for it. Gonna try a diffrent sub this time.

I have 2 of these subs and there great!!! Both are in a "sealed box" wired up to 400watts RMS. They definately can take power....there hooked up to a RE Audio 2ch. amp and I don't think its enough power (it is...I just think they can handle more)! Would recommend these with a mono amp (precision power-class D) and you'll get more bang for your buck!!! Overall rating...10 out of 10....great price...great sound and great quality!!!

I got two of these 12s with the enclosed box and the RE Audio XT 800 2.v3 and they hit like a big hammer. These 12s are built 2 last for a long time under a lot of power, witch the RE Audio amp puts out. You need to pick these Cerwin-Vega 12s up now!
