Add An Amplifier To Your Stereo System!

The NVX XFLOC4 Premium line-out converter is the perfect solution for adding an aftermarket amplifier to your stock or aftermarket stereo system. The XFLOC4 uses the signal from your stock stereo or amplifier by tapping into the stock speaker wire and converting it to a 4-channel RCA signal output. This allows you to add an amp simply and effectively. It features a 3:1 Step down with an adjustable gain output, DC amplifier turn-on trigger and a total of 160 watts maximum input (40 watts per channel). The XFLOC4 uses a digital noise filter to reduce static and other noises that sometimes occur when adding a line out converter. The end result is a high quality line out converter with super low distortion, and as with all NVX products the engineering and build quality is second-to-none.

Product Features:

  • 4-channel Premium adjustable line output converter
  • Digital Noise Filter + Line Driver
  • 3:1 Step Down With Adjustable Output
  • DC Amplifier Turn On Trigger
  • 160w Maximum Input Total (40w Per Channel)
  • Super Low Distortion
  • Authorized Internet Dealer
  • 1-year Manufacturer's Warranty

Line-Out Converter Specifications

Number of Channels
Each channel on an amplifier will power one speaker using a positive and negative cable. There are various types of amplifiers, each designed to power a certain number of speakers. Monoblock amplifiers, also known as single channel, are designed to power one or more subwoofers. These amplifiers often have very high power ratings. On the other hand, multi-channel amplifiers power multiple speakers, usually at lower power ratings. 2-Channel and 4-Channel amplifiers can power car speakers or low powered subwoofers. Occasionally you might see a 5 or 6-channel amplifier that can power speakers and subwoofers at the same time. The most common setup is a monoblock amp to run subwoofers and a 4-channel amp to run door speakers. Check out our Knowledge Base for more information.

Solved that static alternator whine issue

May 10, 2014

My brand new car's factory sound system sounded terrible so I decided to upgrade it. I had to keep my factory radio because the car's functions depend on the screen/radio of the car. I installed a JL audio 300/4v2 along with Focal components and after I was done installing everything, there was a tremendously loud static noise coming from the speakers, even with the volume all the way down. When I would rev up the engine, it would make a whistling, whining noise from the alternator. I spent 2 days trouble shooting the problem. Separating wires, re-grounding, running new wires, adjusting gains, etc. and none of that worked. I saw this LOC from NVX and decided to give it a try since it claimed to have a digital noise filter feature. Man, as soon as I installed I was blown away. That annoying noise was GONE! The music sounds crystal clear now. I purchased that particular set up because I wanted an SQ sound system and now it delivers that very clean music with absolutely NO distorting noise. I was stressed out for 2 days wondering how to fix it. If you are in the same situation, buy this LOC. It will end your problems with all that unwanted noise. Forget those "solutions" people talk about all over the internet about re-grounding, ground isolation, and all that junk. This LOC solved it for me. It was so easy to install, it has adjustable gains, and feels very sturdy. Even if you turn the gains all the way up on the LOC, you will still hear no unwanted noise.

perfect!

October 30, 2013

No unwanted noise, soft turn on and off, cant even tell its there. It does its job seemlessly in my 09 Jeep Grand cherokee with boston acoustics system. I wanted full range sound out of the door speakers so I pulled off the output from the factory amp of the dash speakers and rear speakers. All speakers are now full range and amplified with a kicker ZX350.4. I can keep the gain super low on the amp and cross over the speakers to keep the bass out with the amp controls. This LOC made all that possible to use the kicker amp with NO NOISE.

Bad quality

The wiring harness was bad out of the package. I could move the harness around to make it work, but I didn't want to install it. Had to run to a local big box store to buy another off brand one.

Nvx Line out converter

March 18, 2016

I had the Pac lp7 4 installed in my stock car stereo, wich worked great for connecting a Rockford mono amp for subwoofer and a 4 channel amp for speakers, only problem is I was having alternator noise even tho I installed everything correctly, I tried everything and nothing took the noise out, until I read some reviews here wich said this didn't had noise, so I installed this and to my surprise only one channel ( one pair of rca) worked. Instruction said if that happened, then use the ground supplied, but that didn't worked, I checked the rca with a multimeter and there was no voltage,, then I squeezed the cables and there was some voltage, but too low compared to the pac lp7, so this didn't worked out of the package, I put the pac lp7 4 back, at least I have sound with that one, problem is I can't ship it back, cause I'm at another country. I wasted 20 bucks with shipping for this Useless converter.

Needed something to reduce the high output on a radio to amp install
brent r on Oct 6, 2015
I have one of these in my truck so I could add a 4-ch amp off the factory radio. I am randomly getting an intermittent buzzing from one of the speakers when I turn on the parking/head/dash lights. I did not do the install, local shop did it. What can I look for to help isolate the source of the buzzing?
jp3457 on Oct 7, 2015
Best Answer: Can you get a picture or diagram as to how the device is connected.

Typically all you would need to hook up the XFLOC4 is to tap the speaker wires only.

This does not require power provided you are not using the XFLOC4s remote turn on function.

For me to diagnose the issue I need to know how the device is connected. You can reach me directly @ brian@nvx.com

Will this work both ways (as in from RCA line level to speaker level)?
Dom B on Oct 22, 2014
Best Answer: Technically information can travel both ways through the wiring and box. However a line level is used as a transformer to convert Higher voltage used on a factory system to a lower voltage required by an aftermarket amplifier. I can't think of a setup where you'd want to try and convert a lower voltage from a signal source like an aftermarket amplifier or stereo to a higher voltage source? There's too many other ways to supply a signal to speakers using standard output terminals and wiring or to provide low level RCA out to a low level RCA in. If you wanted to go from an amp to a factory deck that will not work as factory decks use the hi volt wiring as output only.

I would like to use this unit to tap into factory head unit before the factory amp and send signal to a DSP, which takes RCA inputs for the pre-amp input. The HU has a balanced signal (+ -) for left and right. The DSP has input sensitivity of 2 to 4 volts. Will this product work for me?
Larry R on Sep 26, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, but I had constant buzzing. It drove me crazy, so I replaced factory head unit with a pioneer and all the buzzing was gone. Good luck.

Will this be compatible with my stock fiber optic speaker wires of my Bose system in my 2004 Mercedes?
brian on Nov 4, 2014
Best Answer: Yes and No. No because Fiber optics run off of an "IR" signal (infrared). This type of LOC works off of high level signals. Yes because You will have to find the actual factory amp location, go to the output side of the amp where it will have high level outputs and tap the unit in there. It'll take a little research to get the wiring diagram for you model but it can be done. Good luck and take your time doing the job.

will this work with a 2012 dodge ram 1500 stock stereo?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2016
Best Answer: Yes. All you do is find the wiring diagram for your stereo via the Internet. Figure out which wires go to which speakers and splice the wires from the box to yor stock speaker wires. Do not dicomnect your speaker wires unless you plan on running an amp your speakers. But if you are using it just to install an amp it will be good just spliced.

Does the DC Amplifier turn-on trigger replace the need for the remote turn-on lead from the head unit to the amp?
Don S on Oct 23, 2015
Best Answer: Yes it does, but for me I installed a remote turn on anyway because my amp turns on as soon as I open my car door. I wanted the amp and speakers to be turned on and off with the ignition so I opted to install a remote turn-off wire even though it is not necessary.

Best Answer: No you will not need an output converter just a wiring harness. You can use the output from your new radio that is label (Front Rear Sub out) by hooking the power sub using rca audio cable to your sub out on the radio to the power woofer. No speaker wire is needed just a radio harness. But for better sound add a outboard amp to power those speakers you will a happy man. You will need speaker wire and a amp kit to hook everything up. Look at the NVX product line will have everthing you need.

How do i hook up a 5 channel amp to connect 4 speakers and sub with this loc? please help.
A shopper on Aug 23, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

Unfortunately, You cannot get a Fifth channel out of a Four Channel LOC. You will need to split the signal, which is a bad idea; because you will dramatically degrade the quality of the signal after the split. Doing this is still not uncommon, but we don't condone the practice.
Our suggestion:
either an EQ with Four High Level in that then gives you a 'Sub' Out, like the NVX XEQ7
or
the AudioControl LC7i-GRAY, which has the ability to also take Only Four High Level ins, and provide a Sub Out. The AudioControl LC7i-GRAY is far more user friendly, and slightly better SQ.
