Excellent quality sound!
Denon is known for great sound from all their audio products, and this is no exception. The sound is crystal clear, with very good bass. I can tell there is a distinct separation of the highs and the lows. In other words, the sound is never muffled. Speech is also very clear and easily understood even when music is playing in the background. Even though these are not considered "noise cancelling" headphones, they do a very good job killing the noise outside such as when riding in a car, or when other people are watching TV in the same room.
