Equalizer Specifications

Equalizer Bands
The number of graphic or parametric equalizer bands the receiver has. The better the EQ, the more likely you will be able to "tweak" your sounds to your desire.
6 band
Equalizer Frequencies
The frequency range that allows control of the center frequency of each equalization band.
31.5 - 8000 Hz
Built-in Crossover

A crossover is a type of filtering system that permits only certain frequencies to play. A Low-Pass (LP) crossover allows only frequencies below its setting to get through which is good in the case of some subwoofers. A High-Pass(HP) filter allows frequencies above its setting to pass through, this is normally used on speakers.

When a crossover is set to FULL it means no filtering is added and the full frequency spectrum is allowed through the amplifier. Filtering is important because feeding a speaker frequencies it cannot reproduce effectively creates distortion.

None
Built-in Bass Reconstruction
Bass reconstructors, or bass enhancers, improve low frequency reproduction in a car audio system with at least one subwoofer. These bass expander products will help your subs produce accurate bass thumps.
Yes
Speaker Level Inputs
Speaker level inputs are commonly referred to as high-level inputs and vice versa. This input type allows you to get your audio signal directly from the speaker wire in your vehicle, instead of using RCA cables. The advantage of this is factory integration, as most stock radios do not have RCA outputs to run amplifiers.
Yes
Total Number of Inputs
This is the total number of input connections that go into the unit.
6
Total Number of Outputs
This is the total number of output connections that the unit will produce.
3
Signal Boost/Cut
The available signal boost or cut for each of the frequency bands.
12 dB
Max Output Level
The maximum level (in volts) of signal output. A higher level will increase the clarity and boost your signal.
8.5 volts
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
10 - 22 Hz
THD (Total Harmonic Distortion)
The amount of change in harmonic content of the signal as it is amplified. A lower figure indicates less change and a more accurate amp. THD below 0.10% is inaudible.
0.001%
Width
The width of the item from left to right (side-to-side) measured in inches.
7-15/16"
Height
The height of the item, measured from top to bottom, in inches.
1-5/16"
Depth
The front-to-rear depth of the item, in inches. If the item is angled or slanted, this value is the bottom measurement.
6-15/16"

Best Car Audio Product in Years

March 8, 2013

I am quite pleased with this product. I put it in a 2013 Elantra with the navigation and built in amp. It worked great. I just placed it in line between the stock amp and the speakers. I left the tweeters alone, my 5 channel would have blown them, and have it running running to my amp, then to the stock internals and a 10' W3. I could not be happier. The car lowers the volume to the rear speakers and speaks the navigation voice comes on through the fronts. I was worried this would for some reason cause a problem but it was fine. I was also worried that the car had the bass roll-off, but it did not. I cut the wires between the stock amp and the speakers, ran extension wires to this unit for the front and rear speakers wires coming out of the stock amp, bridged the audio (using this product) from the rear speakers to the sub channel, then ran the RCAs to the 5 channel amp for both the front, rear, and subs, wired the sub in the box, ran speaker wires from the amp output 4 channels back to the respective stock speaker wires that I cut originally. Then I played with the setting until I got them sound perfect. I was really intimidated (brand new car and all) and I have been putting systems in cars for the last 12 years. Just for God's sake... Label both sides of every wire (in between where you cut and on each end of your extension wires) or you will have an overwhelming mess on your hands!

Excellent results

January 13, 2013

Installed in 2012 silverado. Chevy known for poor factory head unit signal. This was a must have! Easy to install no issues. Corrected the frequency response specificlly with the bass rollover. Sounds like I installed a New head unit. EQ a nice feature front, rear and sub.

Looks good in the box...

July 30, 2012

The AudioControl LCQ-1 is, conceptually, the best of both worlds (the LC6i meets the EQS). Unfortunately, the results were not up to par. Well, at least they would have been if we could've gotten the thing to work properly (the units kept popping at crackling at any volume level). We went through three LCQ-1's before we got one that finally worked. The sound was great, except that two days into it, the unit started to produce a high-pitch whine from the rear driver's side tweeter. We swapped back in the LC6i to make sure it wasn't the amp or tweeter, and the noise went away. This unit may work for some folks, and perhaps I received a batch of bad LCQ-1"s, but I cannot recommend this product or brand to others. Since my batch of malfunctioning LCQ-1's, I have stepped up to the Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3 and couldn't be happier.
