The new JL Audio JX Series of amplifiers was designed with a specific purpose: to create a high quality amplifier with a moderate price tag. JL Audio created an entire line of JX series amplifiers to provide an amp configuration for everyone. The line includes three monoblock amplifiers, a two-channel, and a four-channel. I have had the displeasure of owing this amp for 6 months... the output I believe is FAR below what it is rated and since my old amp (phoenix gold RSD) was a similar RMS and made my sub hit much harder.
The most annoying part is the overheating. If you play your bass for more than an hour, it gets BURNING hot and goes into thermal protection. This got really annoying while driving cross country. I am planning on buying a new amp and throwing this out because I can't in good conscience sell it to anyone.
Short and sweet, JL Audio isn't what they used to be obviously. Buy anything except this amp. Pure garbage.

I have this amp hooked up in my Silverado to a 10 inch kicker L7 dual 4 ohm in a sealed box wired down to 2 ohms final load, and once you've set the gain it is waaaay louder than expected!!! I got the class A/B in Janurary and just threw in my truck and thought it was pretty loud and two months later my friend set my gain and it started to shake the dashboard!!! If you want something as a beginner system, this is more than perfect because its tiny, so you can put it anywhere, and now its a class D!!! Get this!
