The Gods Have Spoken

The Gods of HIFONICS are proud to introduce the MT Olympus OLM800 series subwoofers! From top to bottom these subs have been designed for incredible SPL and SQ!

Here are the important features: The OLM800 series features a DVC 2-Ohm (OLM800D2) and DVC 4-Ohm (OLM800D4) model to allow for multiple wiring configurations making this series versatile for any application you can imagine. Starting with a massive 85oz high energy magnet with a ported back plate for heat dispersion, you know they mean business. Supporting the motor structure is an ultra ridged aluminum die cast basket with a polished grey finish. The moving parts feature a one-piece pressed paper cone/dustcap for structural integrity, high roll santoprene rubber surround for long excursion, reinforced cone-neck support for stability and optimally spaced dual spiders for precise inward and outward excursion control. The 2.5” high-temp voice coil is wrapped on an aluminum former and ready to take every bit of the 800wrms/1600wmaxx! The OLM800’s are designed for both ported and sealed enclosure designs.

Subwoofer Specifications

Subwoofer Series
Each subwoofer manufactured is part of a series. This is the name of the subwoofer's series.
Mt. Olympus (Hifonics)
Subwoofer Size
Refers to the diameter of the subwoofer, measured in inches.
Peak Power Handling
Peak power handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle during a brief musical burst. The RMS power range figure is a much more reliable rating for determining the speaker's power requirements. The Peak power handling specification is typically rated per speaker unless otherwise noted.
1600 watts
RMS Power Handling
The RMS power is the amount of power the speaker requires to operate safely and properly. RMS Power Handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle on a continuous basis. We recommend powering your speakers or subwoofer with 80%-120% of its recommended RMS rating. The RMS power handling specification is typically rated per speaker unless otherwise noted.
800 watts
Voice Coil(s)
Dual voice coil subs have more wiring flexibility than single voice coils subs; however, single voice coil subwoofers provide easier hookup options for wiring multiple subwoofers in parallel or series. You may also run a dual voice coil (DVC) sub in parallel, series, or combination. A quad voice coil has four voice coils and is equal to two dual voice coil subwoofers as far as wiring goes.
Impedance (Per Voice Coil)
The load value (in ohms) that the speakers present to the amplifier per voice coil - the amount of resistance to the current flow. This is a key specification as subs wired in parallel or low impedances can create problems with your amplifier and potentially void all warranties. We encourage you to ask our support department prior to purchase if you do not understand which impedance level will suit your application best.
2 ohms
Voice Coil Diameter
Diameter of voice coil, usually measured in inches.
An efficiency or sensitivity rating tells you how effectively a speaker converts power into sound. The higher the number, the more efficient the speaker and the louder it will play with the same input power. An efficient speaker helps you maximize your available power. Most sensitivity ratings measure the speaker's output with 1 watt of input, 1 meter from the speaker. Some speakers' sensitivity is measured with 2.83 volts of input, instead of 1 watt.
Efficiency (1w/1m) is not an accurate indicator of a subwoofer's output capability and should not be used as a comparison to other speakers or subwoofers to determine which one is "louder".
83.8 dB

Electromechanical Parameters

Free-Air Resonance (Fs)
The free-air resonance frequency of the subwoofer, measured in Hz. At this frequency the weight of the moving parts is perfectly balanced with the subwoofers suspension system.
29.14 Hz

Hifonics OLYMPUS 12

February 24, 2015

I purchased this sub a couple of weeks ago. I received it from within 3 days of my order. I had to just look at it for over a week until the 2.0 cf 32 htz box came. But I got it this weekend. I also purchased a Hifonics BRX 1200.1 mono block amp to push it. I have this Beast wired to 1olm and it pounds. It hits as hard as the 2 Kicker Comp VR 12's that I did have. Except the Hifonics sounds better. I pray I can get at least 3 more of them before they do something stupid like discontinue them. Definitely worth the price. I would absolutely recommend Hifonics sub's and amps and no better place to get them than .

I have a Hifonics Amp and this speaker was recommended for it.
Constance J on Jan 21, 2015
I have one of these exact sub's and considering it's dual 2 olm I only have the option of running it at 1 olm or 4 olm. My amp is the Hifonics BRX 1200.1 at 4 olms it only puts out 450 watts. This is only half of the sub's rms rating would that be enough to push it. I'm pretty sure that 1200 watts rms at 1olm would be to much for it but I'm not sure because it is 1600 watts peak. Which way should I wire it to get the best sound without damaging it?
rokstar on Mar 10, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Rick,

We suggest picking up a new amp or sub entirely . Either route you go is a fairly precarious one. To be safe, we suggest running the setup at 4ohms, and making sure the system is tuned properly.

When will you have the dual 4 olm version of these in stock? Because I would like to run two of them at 1olm instead of 2 olm. Are you going to carry these in dual 4 olm?
A shopper on Mar 5, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

What you seek is the Hifonics OLM800D4; unfortunately, Hifonics has not indicated that they will be sending us more of that product any more.
