Headphone Amplifier Specifications

Amplifier Style
Some headphone amplifiers are designed to be portable and others are meant to be placed on a desk. This will tell you what style of amplifier this item is.
Desktop
Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC)
A Digital-to-Analog converter (also known as a DAC) converts a digital audio signal into an analog signal. This is especially helpful for listen to music from digital sources, such as iPods and smart phones.
Built-in
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the amplifier will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
20 - 20000 Hz
THD (Total Harmonic Distortion)
The amount of change in harmonic content of the signal as it is amplified. A lower figure indicates less change and a more accurate amp. THD below 0.10% is inaudible.
0.02%
Input Connection
This is the manner in which the headphone amplifiers receive an input audio signal.
3.5mm Mini-Jack
Output Connection
This is the manner in which the headphone amplifier will output the audio signal.
Stereo RCA
Output Power
This is the output wattage of the headphone amplifier. It is measured in mW.
24 mW
Output Impedance
This is the output impedance of the headphone amplifier.
4 ohms
Power Requirement
This is the required way to give the unit power. Common power sources are 120V AC (Common house plugs), batteries, or a combination of the two. If the headphone amplifier uses batteries, this will list the type of batteries that are required. Please refer to the description to find out how many are required for the unit to be properly powered.
15V DC
Width
The width of the item from left to right (side-to-side) measured in inches.
6"
Height
The height of the item, measured from top to bottom, in inches.
4 1/2"
Depth
The front-to-rear depth of the item, in inches. If the item is angled or slanted, this value is the bottom measurement.

Very nice simple and compact amp

October 29, 2013

High quality amp in a small, good looking package. Non intimidating size and cute color to keep the wife happy. She doesn't like it big :) Perfect if you are considering a soundbar. Get the Dia instead! Paired with some nice speakers, you have a discreet stereo system that sounds great. You can connect a subwoofer as well. If you are looking for surround sound and multiple inputs, look elsewhere, only three inputs. I have my big power thirsty Denon set up with wires and speakers all over the place in my "bro room" and the Dia in my living room. Simple enough for my wife and kids to use and not become frustrated. Just turn it on and adjust volume. Doesn't get any easier. The remote is small and could get lost but if you have a programmable remote, you don't even need it.
