Crossover Specifications

Built-in Crossover

A crossover is a type of filtering system that permits only certain frequencies to play. A Low-Pass (LP) crossover allows only frequencies below its setting to get through which is good in the case of some subwoofers. A High-Pass(HP) filter allows frequencies above its setting to pass through, this is normally used on speakers.

When a crossover is set to FULL it means no filtering is added and the full frequency spectrum is allowed through the amplifier. Filtering is important because feeding a speaker frequencies it cannot reproduce effectively creates distortion.

Built-in Bass Reconstruction
Bass reconstructors, or bass enhancers, improve low frequency reproduction in a car audio system with at least one subwoofer. These bass expander products will help your subs produce accurate bass thumps.

Works Great!

July 14, 2010

I purchased this x-over when the sub out on my head unit gave up, much cheaper than a good head unit replacement, and I have to say that this thing really makes a difference on the sound. It gives a lot more control and clarity to the sub channel, even better than what the head unit had. It also made a big difference in the clarity of my highs and mids. Overall I am very impressed and would recommend this to anyone looking for more control and quality in their music.

a must have

November 3, 2006

This is a great crossover. I use one for competition purposes but even when not at a competition this thing works great! The sound quality that it provides to your amps is awesome. I gained a lot of decibels just by installing it. Its super easy to use and very durable.

...Changed my whole system...

September 8, 2006

I have a system i am proud of in my car. Not a competition setup, but an enviable system nonetheless. When I was in need of a new crossover, I just HAPPENED to choose the Kicker KX3 3-Way. Just by pure happenstance. Whoa! Now, i get excited about car audio products, this much is true. But I really was impressed with this crossover! Great design, fits under my passenger seat on a little routed piece of MDF I made for it; the bass control module fits on the dash of my Altima like it was born there. Just a little, black, knobby birth-mark, makin' my Fosgate S3 subs work for their vittles! The big, heavy, black cord attached to the module though was a bit unweildy, but who cares?!? The Kicker KX3 3-Way crossover is the nicest of its kind I have ever owned. I am definately hooked on their products; plus they make 'em just up the road!

Great Xover!

December 31, 2005

My friend had a great idea to put two of each: 8", 12" and 15" subs in his suv, and the sound was horrible, and the amps built in Xovers were doing nothing. this EQ worked wonders. now the low band is seperated between the 6 different subs and it sounds so much better with each different size handling a frequency range thats suitable to its size.

Usefull thing

January 17, 2006

..Very usefull when your head unit is not so good... you can separate hi frequencies from low... usefull when you have a subwoofer, that allows you to get the hi frequencies to the speakers and give all the bass to the subwoofer !
