This add-on is well worth the few dollars in cost and a few more for the installation. I have a convertible and before i had it, i had to roll my windows up every time for the alarm to be functional. Now, i can safely leave the windows down or the top down even, and not have any worries, only drawback is that if you have the sensitivity too high, things like birds and cars driving by could set it off.
