The Walkman Is Here To Stay!

For years Sony has helped pioneer the road in the consumer electronics market. From the early days where "Listening on the go" was just wishful thinking, to modern times when just about every phone is a music player, Sony has always had their sights set on what was next. In 1979 Sony shocked the world with the very first portable music player, the Walkman. For the first time in history, people were able to enjoy their favorite tunes on the go. And since the Walkman was introduced in 1979, we have never looked back. We have been spoiled over time with the increasingly fast evolution of electronics, and the constant demand for the next big thing. Sony has managed to stay right on pace with this ever changing industry, without losing their grasp on what won our hearts in the first place. The joy, and convenience of portable music and radio is now a standard in most of the world today.

Flash Forward a little over 30 years, and here we are again. Right where Sony started this legacy, the Walkman continues to thrive as if it will never go out of style. Granted, the new Walkman are just a little bit smaller, and sure they weigh a little less too, but the Walkman lives on. With AM/FM tuning and up to 100 hours (Yes, you read that right!) off of just 1 "AA" battery, you might end up taking the long way home, or actually going that extra mile. That is sort of efficiency that inspired NASA. Well, maybe not. But it certainly set the bar high for all the rest of the manufacturers who are still chasing a Sony perfection after over 30 Years.

Good choice.

This little radio works well while I walk, nearly every day.

Great little Radio!

I ordered this radio online because I could no longer find it locally. But this is not my first experience with it. I've actually been using these for years to listen to the radio on the job. I'm a home improvement contractor and move around quite a bit on the job and since I like talk radio. I like to be able to hear it continually, where if it was just music, a plug in radio would work.

But I digress! As I say I've been using it for years. Although this is a good quality AM/FM radio it's not indestructible and I usually wear one out in about a year though I have had them longer than that. No other belt clip radio has the reception this unit has and none have as good battery life. It takes one AA size battery and one battery will last me about three to four weeks, that's listening to the radio about six to eight hours a day.

I would certainly recommend this radio to anyone looking for a radio to listen to while working or jogging, bicycling or whatever. It has good quality sound for either talk or music (FM) and will work with your ear buds or the head phone set that comes with it which is pretty good considering the cost.

There really are no "cons" with this radio unless you want digital tuning, memory pre-sets and such which this radio doesn't have . Those radios that do are finicky, don't last long and battery life is very poor on all the ones I've tried. With this radio I can easily adjust the volume or change the station right on my belt without even looking. You will never find a better radio this size and for this low price. I plan to soon order another one just to have for back up.

Great Buy!

I bought this to listen to the radio early in the am and late at night upon waking and falling asleep....it's great, perfect! I can listen to my talk radio shows without waking my husband up. Great price and runs off one battery which lasts a long time. Great buy for the money.

Excellent item for the price.

Tuned stations accurately and sound quality was adequate. Headsets were comfortable, but sound was not crystal clear. Max volume was less than desired, but adequate for most situations. For the price, you can't beat it.
