These speakers are specially designed with true 4ohm technology. The impedance of these speakers are 3ohms, but when you pair them with thin factory wiring, the impedance will naturally rise up to a true 4ohms resulting in a maximum amount of power draw from your 4ohm rated factory receiver, aftermarket deck, or external amplifier. What it comes down to is efficiency. If you need a speaker that will get the most out of your current sound system, the Reference X series is for you.
Each of the Reference X speakers features plus one woofer cone technology. This means the cone has been designed to be slightly larger than comparable speakers, giving you even more output on the same amount of power. This drastically increases the efficiency of the speaker, and also extends the frequency response even lower to give you that nice thump you’ve been looking for.
Want an easy upgrade for your factory speakers without going over your budget? The Infinity Reference X Series is for you. Its engineered to bring your factory audio system to life, or to add clarity and depth to an aftermarket system. With innovative, patented technologies, and the kind of premium quality and construction that you would expect from the worlds top-selling premium car speaker brand, Infinity Reference X speakers will transform your listening experience into something amazing.

This is a good product all around so far. Installed them in my 04 tiburon and they sound great, only thing is that the tweeters stick out and hit the side panel a little bit and vibrate, Easy fix though. Have them powered to my 3000 watt amp with my sub and the highs are very crisp, tweeters sound great and the lows are solid not to mention they also have the push button for the +/- 3db which makes things a lot easier. I've never seen a cone on a pair of 6x9 that can move so much. Great product, for anyone looking to buy themselves a set of these speakers I would highly recommend it, they are well worth the price.

I got 3.5 inch Infinity for dash and 6x9 infinity for front door.
High is very harsh. I did 20 hours burn in to see if it will change, but it is not. If you put your ear close to speaker for 10 seconds with not too high volume, your ear literally hurts. I installed Pioneer on the rear door and it does not hurt my ear at all.
Mid is very retracted, and Mid-bass is not existence. I used to own Infinity InterLude 30 tower speaker, and it has very similar characteristics.
High - emphasized and metallic, not natural.
Mid - retracted
Bass - not too bad in higher volume.
It has very high efficiency but in lower volume, you only hear ear-aching highs.
I will be replacing this with Pioneer which I had in my older car.

Put these in and ran them for a month or so off just the head. After I got tired of the harshness and what I can only guess is high odd order harmonics, I tried giving them a small amount of amp from an old 2 channel I had lying around. Improved but still very harsh. Went through them with both BT and analog signal generators to my trusty old SPL meter. Need over 9dB of EQ in my admittedly old and beat up truck? I've had great luck with Infinity in the past but they're obviously not the SQ company they were "back in the day". Sorry Harman, you've killed a formerly respectable brand. They're loud, they're not overly distorted at loud volumes, but they are harsh and annoying over time, not musical.
Great quality!
These are the best speakers you will get at this price. The bass is good and the highs are very clear. Nice speakers all around! Great factory upgrade.
Fit 2015 Charger with minor modifications
I put these in the front doors and rear deck on my 2015 Charger Pursuit (with non-folding rear seat...what a pain in the ass to get to). I already had the Infinity Reference 3.5" speakers in the dash. It sounds great with my stock UConnect 5.0 head unit! I highly reccomend.
The front doors fit fine. The speakers in the rear deck needed the mounting holes slotted. Simple enough with a drill. You'll see the factory speakers had the slots as well. Also, I could only get 3 of 4 mounting screws in each speaker. Good enough for me, as I won't be adding an amp or sub so I'm not worried about vibration. The tweeters cleared just fine.
for 2011 Charger
Bought these to replace the factory Alpine's on my '11 Charger (6 speaker system). They didn't quite fit, took some finessing and couldn't use the factory bolts. Dust covers obviously couldn't be used but the tweeters did clear everything barely, as they to stick out a little bit with the angled head. Did manage to get them in both the rear deck and front door panels with the screws that came with using the clips as a lock and snipped off the ends a bit since so long. The speakers were an improvement, but the bass was only really noticeable above volume 25. Sounds better with a CD or ipod than Sirius. However, just replacing the speakers didn't cut it for me. The system is still far too limited by the OEM amp band passing. The speakers could be great if they were powered by an AEM amp run through an LOC like the LC7i. If you can't afford to upgrade more of the system, I wouldn't bother buying speakers (for the Chargers) they are just too limited. The highs are much improved but I wanted a better stage and much deeper, harder, crisp bass response. I will be adding an LC7i, 5ch amp, and 10" sub to the system shortly.
