Circuit Breaker Specifications

Circuit Breaker Rating
Circuit breakers are used in place of fuses to protect an electrical device from a overload or short-circuit. Unlike fuses, circuit breaker do not need to be replaced whenever one "blows". Instead, simply flip the switch on the breaker and the connection is safely restored.

The circuit breaker rating is the number of amps that the unit has been rated at. The number of amps on a circuit breaker corresponds to the same number of amps needed when using fuses.

Maximum Input Gauge Size
This is the largest gauge wire that will fit into the power and ground terminals of this device. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire is. For example, a 4 gauge wire is thicker than an 8 gauge wire and thus has higher current carrying capacity. Always do your best to get this size wire to reduce the risk of damage to your components.

Why did you choose this?
Sonic Electronix Store
Better than a fuse, you don't need replacements.

Can it be installed in the engine compartment?
A shopper on Dec 19, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

Yes, in fact, that is the most common location. Of course, Not All Engine Compartments Are Alike, obviously, so do not take this as concrete information. Your engine compartment may far exceed the temperature of a "common" setup, or it may not. Plan accordingly, and perform the install at your discretion.
