Listen to your Favorite Music

The HRT iStreamer-115V is a product that makes the music coming out of an iPad, iPhone or iPod sound dramatically better when connected to your entertainment system. iStreamer is not designed to be used with PC or Mac computers. Rather, it is a high performance external sound card/audio interface that has been specifically designed to exclusively interface with modern iDevices such as the iPod touch (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gen), iPod classic, iPod nano (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th gen), iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPhone, iPad, iPad (3G), iPad 2, iPad 3, and the New iPad Mini. iStreamer captures the direct digital music stream coming from the iDevice and takes over the job of decoding the bits into analog music.

Headphone Amplifier Specifications

Amplifier Style
Some headphone amplifiers are designed to be portable and others are meant to be placed on a desk. This will tell you what style of amplifier this item is.
Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC)
A Digital-to-Analog converter (also known as a DAC) converts a digital audio signal into an analog signal. This is especially helpful for listen to music from digital sources, such as iPods and smart phones.
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the amplifier will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
THD (Total Harmonic Distortion)
The amount of change in harmonic content of the signal as it is amplified. A lower figure indicates less change and a more accurate amp. THD below 0.10% is inaudible.
Input Connection
This is the manner in which the headphone amplifiers receive an input audio signal.
Input Impedance
This is the input impedance of the headphone amplifier.
Output Connection
This is the manner in which the headphone amplifier will output the audio signal.
Number of Outputs
Some headphone amplifiers have a built-in splitter so multiple pairs of headphones can be connected to it. The number specified here is the number of headphones that can be connected to the amplifier.
Output Power
This is the output wattage of the headphone amplifier. It is measured in mW.
Output Impedance
This is the output impedance of the headphone amplifier.
Power Requirement
This is the required way to give the unit power. Common power sources are 120V AC (Common house plugs), batteries, or a combination of the two. If the headphone amplifier uses batteries, this will list the type of batteries that are required. Please refer to the description to find out how many are required for the unit to be properly powered.
Width
The width of the item from left to right (side-to-side) measured in inches.
Height
The height of the item, measured from top to bottom, in inches.
Depth
The front-to-rear depth of the item, in inches. If the item is angled or slanted, this value is the bottom measurement.

DAC Specifications

Maximum Output Voltage
This is the maximum voltage that the amplifier or preamplifier is able to output.
Output Impedance
This is the amount of impedance that the microphone allows.
THD (Total Harmonic Distortion)
The amount of change in harmonic content of the signal as it is amplified. A lower figure indicates less change and a more accurate amp. THD below 0.10% is inaudible.
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
Crosstalk
Crosstalk is defined as the unwanted transfer of signals across communication channels. The higher this number is, in dB, the better crosstalk rejection the DAC is capable of.
Signal-to-Noise Ratio
This spec compares the strength of the signal to the level of background noise. A higher value indicates less background noise.
Digital Inputs
The type of digital inputs the digital-to-analog converter features.
Jitter
Jitter is a deviation in or displacement of the pulses in a high-frequency digital signal.
Line Level Outputs
The type of analog line level outputs the DAC features.
Sample Rate
Power Requirement
This is the required way to give the unit power. Common power sources are 120V AC (Common house plugs), batteries, or a combination of the two. If the headphone amplifier uses batteries, this will list the type of batteries that are required. Please refer to the description to find out how many are required for the unit to be properly powered.
