Everyone Wins When Good Technology Gets Better

The GOSHERS BSDS-003016P blind spot detection system is an improved version of the previous model which was already an awesome unit. This improved version uses a brand new, complex algorithm based detection system to help better determine if a vehicle is actually in your blind spot, or just to the side of your vehicle. The previous BSDS-003016 simply notifies you when a vehicle is on the side your vehicle so the new algorithm will greatly reduce false readings, allowing you to drive in confidence. To even reduce false readings you get two additional sensors over the previous model to use on the front of your vehicle AND the BSDS-003016P can detect stationary objects like those poles at the gas station or parked vehicles. How's that for awesomeness? The folks over at GOSHERS took an already great idea and made it even better which means that YOU get to reap all the benefits. Drive with confidence with the new and improved BSDS-03016P.

Why You Need This

  • Keep your vehicle and your passengers safe on the road
  • According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) there are approximately 840,000 side-to-side blind spot collisions in the United States annually
    • Out of these 840,000 collisions there are 300 fatalities
  • Why risk messing up the paint job on your shiny sports car?
  • Why risk messing up ANY kind of vehicle you drive?

Warning:

With the new popularity of electric and hybrid vehicles, Goshers systems cannot be officially recommended for installation in these types of vehicles. The high voltage lines used in these vehicles can sometimes produce electrical interference with certain aftermarket equipment (not only Goshers systems) and cause some functional issues.

GOSHERS BSDS-003016P Features:

  • Premium Upgraded Aftermarket Blind Spot Detection System
  • Uses new algorithm for increased performance and fewer false alerts
    • Unlike the previous model, the new algorithm determines whether a vehicle is in an actual blind spot rather than alerting you when a vehicle is to the side of you
    • Can now identify non moving objects like stationary vehicles, curbs or poles
    • Uses Sonar technology to detect threats in less than 120 ms
  • Installs in virtually any modern vehicle using a 12V electrical system
  • Four wire system hookup for easy installation
  • Two rear bumper sensors (paintable)
  • Two front sensors for fewer false alarms (paintable)
  • Two in-car LED indicators for visual alerts
  • Alarm unit for audible warnings when turn signal is activated
  • 10' alert range covers most blind spots
    • Adjustable to a lower sensitivity
  • Custom Hole-saw for sensor installation
  • Includes 3M industrial strength double-sided tape
  • Wire harness included for a quick plug and play install
  • Authorized Internet Dealer
  • 1-year Manufacturer's Warranty

Goshers 3016P

March 16, 2014

This is the four sensor blind spot avoidance system from Goshers. First for the good. I got a good price for twwo of these kits when it was on sale at Sonic. I had a professional installer install the kit here in the DC area and there is only one company in this region I would trust to do the job right and that is Safe and Sound in Manassas, VA. I have used them multiple times in the past for several of our vehicles. THe system works pretty well in that it not only detects a vehicle in your blind spot, but also gives and indicator as to which side the car is approaching. Both the turn signal and brake circuits will activate the sensor system. There is an approximately 1.5 second delay upon detection to not give a secondary false alarm (which is nice and works well). Also, because of the front sensors, the system knows whether you are overtaking a car or whether a car is overtaking you and adjusts accordingly. From what I have seen there is only one downside to the system. When you are at a stop, either the brake light or the turn signal circuits will still activate the sensors. Specifically, as you are at a dead stop in traffic, any cars passing on the left or right will activate the alarms. I contacted the OEM to find out if they intended to put a GPS based circuit cutout on this system to shut it down while at a stop. The short answer was - NO. Frankly, they should reconsider this since that is the only improvement to this system that would really make it top notch and almost completely Murphyproof. So you might be wondering, has it earned its keep yet? The answer is yes. The wife was ready to make a lane change and signaled a turn and was about to move the car into the next lane when the alarm went off - accident avoided.

Good buy

April 18, 2014

This is a very good aftermarket product that will assist the driver alerting them on approaching vehicles on their blind spot. This product is not the ultimate device but one must practice safety at all times. This item was the installer's first install device. We had a few problems with the right rear tuning lamp going in and out but the installer is working on correcting the problem.

Good aftermarket blind spot assist system

March 10, 2014

Decent Price.
It took 4 hours by a professional to be installed.
Gosher's support was helpful to answers the questions that my installer had.
Works fine on my wife's 2004 Toyota Echo.

Fantastic

January 29, 2015

I bought this kit, not knowing how well it was going to work. A few searches on the internet for a blind spot monitor kept bringing up this brand, so I decided to take a chance. I looked, and they are the only ones who have a real company presence, and have dealers around the nation. I called ahead of time for an installer in my area - and they had one. When the package came, I took it over to get the install done on our Camry.

It's probably the best thing my wife and I did. It works great and warns us when something is next to us and not seen. I'm going to make sure we have these in all of our cars. We've had it for over a month and it works great.

If you are skeptical, don't be. The tech at Goshers worked with my guy before and after installation. They really have good service and seem to stand behind the product even after we bought it.

Gosshers Advanced Blind Spot Warning System

April 16, 2014

Overall, it is a good system. Professional installation is recommended - I agree. The biggest complaint is that at a stop with either the brake depressed or the turn signal on, any car passing on the left or right will give a warning buzzer. I wish Goshers integrated a GPS or speedometer sensor to disable the system while at a stop. Maybe in an upgrade?

This system requires precise installation of sensors. The more precise they are installed the better results. Even with premium package I still get false alarms (of course not as many as with two sensor version, I guess) and some times it won't detect vehicles in blind spots. But I haven't used it long enough to make a final judgement. It's been installed on my Infiniti FX35 and I was planning to install it on my wife's Lexus, but now I need time to test it and to think twice.

This upgraded four sensor system was the second I purchased. The first was the earlier version and is installed on my Prius C.., no real blind spots. This upgraded version was installed on my sister's Honda Odessey, which does have blind spots. She had some concern at first with the left hand indicator flashing a lot when she was on the freeway, no beeps and the right hand sensor doing nothing.

I test drove it around town to check it out and found both sensors to be working properly. The up graded four sensor unit only indicates when something is in the blind spot area AND NOT also in range of the front sensor. My Prius with the two sensor system will light up when a curb is close and when a car is right beside me. The upgraded system only indicates when something is picked up by the rear (blind spot) sensors and not by the front sensors. When turn signals are used and something triggers the sensor system on that side of the car, you get a beep beep, to let you know to check again...

Both systems were installed by a local auto alarm and stereo shop. 1 1/2 hrs labor for the Honda and two hrs for the Prius.., but on the Prius they also installed a backup camera and backup sensors...

I can't say much about durability, as neither system has been installed long enough, to know. As far as features of once you get accustomed to the system they begin to become transparent.

Works great!

November 25, 2013

I'm not sure about the other review, but everything I read about Goshers kits was correct. The system works great when installed correctly, and works even better when fine tuned a little. It was tough to find a installer who was willing to put the effort in, instead of just throwing it in my car and letting me drive home. From what I see on the other review, the installation wasn't done very well. I definitely had my doubts, but since getting the car back from the shop almost 2 weeks ago, I can say I would buy this again and recommend. It's not a microwave factory system, so it's unfair to think it would perform better than one.

I don't think it's fair to give an excellent product a poor review for a one off bad install. Goshers themselves will tell you that this is a installation critical product. I can say its great, and works as it should to warn you of blind spot threats. It's exactly what I needed.

Don't leave home without it

August 8, 2014

The Gosher's BSDS performs perfectly. I have no complaints. I owe most of the satisfaction to the professional installers who had already done several of these systems so I was confident they would not disappoint -- and they didn't.

Everything works as it was intended. Make sure you purchase the premium model listed under this product name.

There is also an advantage of having the sensor lights inside the vehicle instead of on the mirror on the outside where many factory systems are installed. My wife loves it!

Product not reliable

November 1, 2013

Difficult installation, even for a professional. After installation, the signals generated are not consistant: sometimes there are signals, other times on identical traffic conditions there are no signals. Lack of consistancy. The various settings of the unit cannot achieve the consistency. Poor design of the LED indicators.

Didn't work for us.

September 22, 2015

We had this system professionally installed by our local Al and Ed's Autosound in our 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, which has large blind spots. When we first tried it it only lit up or beeped when a car on either side was already up to the passenger seat row in our Santa Fe, way too late to be useful. Took it back to have the !5 degree sleeves added to get it to aim further back, but this wasn't significantly different. Al and Ed's people said this is as good as it gets. What a waste of $350. plus $450 installation. The rear sensors were installed in the correct location as instructed in the manual. Do not get this unless your installer will guarantee in writing that this will alert you to a car that's entering the back of the blindspots. I don't think they'll do this. It also went off when driving along a medium strip with bushes or trees. We can't recommend this product.

Works for us

October 2, 2016

The configuration of our car (Buick LaCrosse) made checking the blind spot more difficult than in our other car and we bought it used without blind spot indicators. We had a local repair shop install the indicators. They had never installed these before so it took them a bit longer than usual (5 hours) but they charged us only for 3 (thank you!). We had it set on high sensitivity but that was picking up every little thing so we moved it to low and it works quite well for us now. We changed from the white indicator lights that came with it to the black LED lights because we found the white ones were hard to see when the sun was shining on them. It made a big difference.

Blind spot detector ...sometimes

I do not recommend the product. I have a car that has a blind spot detector from manufacture . So when I got my son's Car that came without it, I purchase this item.

Works as Described, Very Well

March 25, 2016

I have had our BSDS-003016p Premium version installed for a few months, and wanted to post my comments here. We had this unit installed in a Acura TL sedan. The system works exactly how it is designed to, by notifying the driver that something is in the blind spot area.

I saw reviews here that it doesn't warn you about vehicles coming from behind. That's right, it's not supposed to. Nowhere in the documentation does it claim it does. I checked the manufacturer's website, and they also don't claim that it will detect approaching traffic. Giving a brand a 1-star review for something which is not part of the technology is unfair.

Needless to say, this system works very well. There are a few annoyances in city driving while approaching an intersection or making a turn, but other than that it's a solid unit. We recommend this unit, but make sure your installer understands the function an installation specs prior to installation.

By the way, the Goshers customer service staff was fantastic when working with us and our installer. Customer service shows everything about a company, and is hard to find nowadays.

Over all ok but sensitivity problems

January 28, 2016

The unit seems to be over sensitive giving many false alarms but that may just be a matter of adjustment which we are still working in. The main problem is that the buzzer for alerts when your turn signal is on dis defective. Gosehers says we need to get the replacement part through Sonic and Sonic says we need to get the replacement part through Goshers. Still trying to get that resolved.

Has anyone added the 'GPS module' thats found on eBay, that deactivates the Goshers at slowing speeds (under 20MPH)?
A shopper on Mar 7, 2015
Best Answer: No, and I can NOT understand why you would want this. I have had the Gosher's BSDS on our Honda Accord for more than 6 months. It alerts us whenever a vehicle turns in front of us. BUT, it alerts us when we wish to move to the right lane (curb side) when planning a right turn at an intersection. Not inclined to be moving at more than 20mph then. So, if a vehicle is moving up on our passenger side, the rear sensor tells us NOT to change lanes. The two front sensors do respond with both an audible and light (on A pillar), and we do not consider this annoying because it is keeping us alert. BUT, sometimes, it has prevented pulling over into the curb lane. Additionally, if in the left turn lane, it prevents our turning into a vehicle that is running a light, and turning in front of us. We might be slowly beginning our turn left, and we are alerted to stop. Having used the system for a good while, I do not see how the GPS deactivation is good. Note: you can get the "angle adjuster" which goes into the drilled hole that turns the rear sensor 7 degrees back. This has been a help. They are $24 for two. They allow the rear sensors to react earlier to the vehicles approaching from the rear and provide a quicker notification that a vehicle is approaching from the rear. I see no point in using them on the front sensors. They are easy to install and do not show. Yes, my sensors are black, but blend in well with the other black areas --- our Accord has factory mud flaps.

Does this also do Rear Cross Traffic Alerting or does it only work as a Blind Spot Monitor? To clarify, if I am in a parking lot and put my car into reverse to back out of the spot and another vehicle is coming down the lane, will the system alert me so I do not continue to back out?
GMB1000 on Dec 14, 2014
Best Answer: The BSDS does not alert the driver should the driver be backing out of a parking place AND a vehicle drives behind the car. However, a system for this is available and most likely from Sonics. The company in Memphis does this all the time -- the system and installation is $345.00. I have the BSDS on my wife's 2011
Accord. I do have a couple of suggestions since I have had "the learning process" first hand.
1. Drill your holes on the back bumper has far back as is possible. This will enable the sensor to pick-up the vehicle coming up on either side, sooner. Since I had installed my system 4 months ago, I have had to add the angle brackets on each side (rear bumper). This turns the sensor 7 degrees more to the rear in order to
alert the driver sooner. I think the brackets are $24.00 for two. After installing this, one still has to consider the speed of the car coming up on the driver or passenger sides. If you are driving 65mph and the other vehicle is driving 75mph, the sensor can not compensate for this. However, the reaction time of the sensor is something like 1/1000 of a second. Hope this helps.

A few questions really:

1- I have heard that the 2-sensor version creates a lot of "false" alarms from objects along road (e.g. trees, guard rails). Are the false detections really problematic? I mean, it is detecting something that is actually there. I would consider a detection when there is no object actually present to be problematic, but not these other detections.

2- Is the audible alert smart enough to only alert if it detects something on the side that I'm signalling. Will left turn signal + object detected on the right = audible? That would make the answer to question #1 more important and might make the 4-sensor version more necessary.

3- How does the 10'/3-meter range work out in real life? Is the distance sufficient? I've heard that the longer range on OEM systems can be problematic in heavy traffic, where sometimes you don't have the luxury of leaving a bunch of space.

Best Answer: In my experience with two cars, a minivan with 4 sensors, and a Civic with 2 sensors, the device provides extra safety information. When turning, if there is a car or person on a bike on the turning side, a 'beep' (in addition to a blinking light) indicates their presence. Driving straight, a blinking light indicates objects/people/vehicles at the side of the car. The device is an aid to detection, but you need to be aware of your position and the likelihood of things around you. I also use 'spot' mirrors on both sides of the cars. Nothing can protect you from careless drivers or distracted driving! This just provides you with additional sources of information.

what is the cost of installation and where can it be done?
A shopper on Aug 8, 2014
Best Answer: We, Brian Massey- Dents Away has become a seller of the system. We made our first installation on my personal vehicle for my wife - a 2011 Accord EX-L. Any really good electronics shop or a shop that does aftermarket installations can do this. However, the shop really needs to read the instructions carefully and understand ALL the does and don'ts. Best to lay the system out - ensure that all parts are there. We went slowly on my vehicle. Think through the lenghts of cable and know that there is sufficient amount. We had no problem. However, when selecting the place to drill holes in the bumpers, make certain that the location is not hindered by the steel supports which are at the front and rear. We had to really measure on the rear bumper of the Accord. We probably should have been 1-2 inches farther back. The height was fine. After installation, we had to adjust the controller --- from "normal" to "low." Also, my system only works when the blinker is turned on for a left or right turn. You will possibly pick up some false signals when raining. This is because the sensors are really sensitive, and the rain drops hit them. I have put the car on one of the lifts and used outdoor caulk to seal the sensors on the inside of the bumpers. Since they are all sealed, it can not hurt and but might ensure no water has an effect from the inside. So far, no issue. We went to Little Rock this weekend, and the system worked, perfectly. The system will detect a car turning onto your street when at a stop or when crossing in front of you when at an intersection. It is telling the driver not to pull out into the oncoming traffic that is passing in front of you. This is not always the case, but does work most of the time. ( Remember, sensor works 10' away, so the passing car might not be in the outside lane. Hope this helped. We have 6 orders in house. Once we are totally confident, we are now going to start our installations for retail customers.
