This woofer has a high thermal power handling (700w RMS) for those who want to "bump" for hours on end. It sounds as good as any woofer in its price range and even higher. However, the biggest cons are (1) the price (if you are shopping for your first woofer, you may not fully appreciate this at first and I'd go with something a little cheaper) and (2) Xmax of 16mm is adequate but a little more would be nice.
This obviously is a GREAT looking woofer, very classy and beats out all the other major brands as far as aesthetics are concerned. Even if you inverse-mount it, the motor looks incredibly nice. It's almost a shame that it's hidden inside the box of most installs.
As far as putting it in an enclosure... This has a relatively high QTS of .55 (if you are not familiar, you probably want to do a little research before you invest in a nice subwoofer). This means that it is best suited for large SEALED enclosures. You can still put in in a ported box, but make sure you hire a box designer with modeling software, or it might turn out to sound like poop. But yeah, this sub likes LARGE sealed boxes (at least 1.5 cubes but upwards ot 3 cubic feet would actually be ideal) despite what the manual tells you. I was also annoyed by the manual that it didn't list the driver's average estimated inductance.
Bottom Line: if you are looking for a quality driver that can handle the heat, looks great, built by a reputable company look no further. Just make sure you have the cargo space for a large box.

Its been about 6 weeks since I purchased this woofer from Sonic. I am driving a single SR124dvc in a sealed box at 2 ohms with 900 RMS watts applied.....I believe is fully broken in by now, so here is the scoop.....This woofer really seems to have captured the best of both worlds...good SPL and really fantastic SQL...plays deep and has plenty of excursion for high volumes etc....highly recommend to anyone looking for good all around sound. Be sure to apply plenty of clean power for best results!

I was in the market to buy some new subs for my vehicle. I have previously ran Type Rs, CVRs, L7s, P3s, W3s, W6s, you name it. Ive tried them. So this time around I wanted something new. I heard 2 of these in a vented box at a shop in my area. I was sold. I ordered 3 from sonic and put them in a 4.5cu.ft. sealed box. This subs hit EVERY bass note you can imagine and then some, AND its sounds crystal clear while doing it. I would probably label this sub as a SQL sub because is it does hit hard and low, yet maintains its SQ precision, even at LOUD volumes. I recommend to anyone who wants quality bass. Just make sure your mids and highs can keep up...

I've had mine about a week now and it's not broken in yet but I can tell a difference every day in the sound. Unfortunately I don't have a really strong amp yet, but on 250rms this thing still does plenty of work. It has tight sound and can hit as low as any other sub I've heard. Once I get a T1000-bd from Sonic I'll be able to see it's full potential. I highly recommend this product but they are slightly hard to come by here if you want the DVC model. Sonic has THE BEST price I could find anywhere.

I put this sub into my car a week ago and have destroyed everyone in my neighborhoods hopes and dreams of having a better system than me. I've gone up against Audiobahn, JL Audio, Orion, Rockford Fosgate, and Kicker, and I HAVEN'T LOST YET!!
