Line-Out Converter Specifications

Number of Channels
Each channel on an amplifier will power one speaker using a positive and negative cable. There are various types of amplifiers, each designed to power a certain number of speakers. Monoblock amplifiers, also known as single channel, are designed to power one or more subwoofers. These amplifiers often have very high power ratings. On the other hand, multi-channel amplifiers power multiple speakers, usually at lower power ratings. 2-Channel and 4-Channel amplifiers can power car speakers or low powered subwoofers. Occasionally you might see a 5 or 6-channel amplifier that can power speakers and subwoofers at the same time. The most common setup is a monoblock amp to run subwoofers and a 4-channel amp to run door speakers. Check out our Knowledge Base for more information.

Hi, Please go easy on me, I'm very new to car stereo installation...
I am installing a powered subwoofer (Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10) into my 2014 Accord.
I want to keep the factory DIN, so I bought this AX-MLOC725 output convertor.

Question 1: The subwoofer is 300W, will this output converter be able to handle the full wattage?

Question 2: Does anyone have a video link that shows how to install the output converter to an Accord factory DIN?

Thanks!

Best Answer: Hell Justin,

First, the LOC doesn't take any power from the Subwoofer/Amplifier. All the power is going to subwoofer, so it would be impossible for it to make its way back to the LOC. =] . All the LOC does is take a High Level audio and turns it into usable Low Level RCA, that is it. It takes that signal from the headunit, which is not called a "DIN" by the way. (DIN is a measurement in car audio, which tells us the size of an aftermarket [sometimes OEM] headunit) . As far as your second question goes, your best approach is checking out a Forum. All LOCs will more or less install the same way.

i have 2 questions, one was asked as a reply to one already asked below (can this be "blown" by connecting it to a stock sub output that may/should push 300+ watts to a stock sub)?. the other. how/when does this get tuned? running from a stock sub (06 Acura TL) to this, from this to a mrd m1000/ (2) 10 w3 jl subs.

i am not sure if i tune this before or after i tune gain on amp. if i tune this first, what should gain level be while i tune it. if i tune this 2nd, what should this units setting be at while i tune gain. i dont have a multi meter, so i will be doing it by ear.

Best Answer: Hi there, I would tune this line out converter first and then the amp afterwards because the amp is of higher quality. The line out converter should be set at the "0" mark if there is one

Do you need to power this with a 12V input, or is it optional only if you want to use this as a bridge to the amp as a remote turn-on?

Best Answer: Hello Brad,

As Justin Suggested; the 12v source is not a mandatory connection unless you wish to have a useable 12v Remote/Accessory Source.
