In-Dash Receiver Specifications

Receiver Size

Single DIN: 1 DIN dimensions will work with all single DIN installation kits we have to offer. Single DIN radios are the most common size for after-market stereos.

Single DIN slot with flip-out screen: The DIN stereo includes a retractable, flip-out screen. Before purchasing, make measurements to be sure there is no interference with dash accessories such as A/C vents or shift levers.

Single DIN slot with a larger face: Standard single DIN size, but the display is larger then the standard single DIN size. Due to the nature of the larger face, problems may arise when installing in particular vehicles. These stereos are great for single DIN slots where you want a larger screen.

1.5 DIN: This size is very uncommon in vehicles, however this size opening is most commonly found in Chrysler and Chevrolet vehicles.

Double DIN: Approximately 4-inches in height, this size is becoming more common every year. Prior to 2000, this size was typically only found in Japanese vehicles such as those made by Honda or Toyota. Now, it is becoming more popular for many vehicles to be fit with a Double DIN opening.

Double DIN
Remote Control
Allows control of specific features and functions from a remote control. Typically they are used to prevent button wear on your radio, or to allow easier navigation of menus.
Yes
Peak Power Output
This form of power rating refers to the maximum amount of power an electronic device can handle or output in an instant without damage occurring. Often times this maximum is achieved during a brief musical burst, such as a drum accent, or low bass hit.

Some manufacturers display peak power ratings on the face of their products to increase the appeal to consumers. The RMS power rating is more accurate, and we recommend using it for product comparison.

52 watts x 4 channels
Preamp RCA Outputs
RCA outputs, commonly known as preamp outputs, allow you to connect one or sometimes multiple external amplifiers. An in-dash receiver will commonly have one, two or three sets of RCA outputs that can be used to connect external amplifiers and other components. One pair of RCA outputs will typically provide a full range signal that can be used for most subwoofer or speaker amplifiers. Two pairs of RCA outputs can typically be configured as four full range signals, or also as two full range and two subwoofer signals. Three sets of RCA outputs will almost always produce four speaker signals and two subwoofer signals for use with multiple amplifiers.
2 Pairs (Front and Rear)
Display Type
The type of display on your receiver refers to the monitor that is used to display the source information such as song names, radio stations, or track times.

Dot-Matrix Text Display: A simple display which uses dots in specific illuminated color(s) to light up and form letters or numbers that are displayed on the receiver.

Graphic or Motion Display: Typically found in mid to high-end receivers and give your text information and receiver more life by adding motion, backgrounds, or multiple colors to your display. There are types of graphic displays such as 3D Graphic, Motion, and OEL (Organic Electroluminescent) displays. They can range from one color to full color displays and typically allow you to select from one of many built-in animations, background images, screensavers or other graphics to enhance your experience and add an extra bit of personality to your system. Some units also come with software that allow you to load your own customizable pictures or animations.

LCD Monitor Display: Can be as small as 2" or as large as 10". Some LCD displays are motorized for angle adjustment. LCD monitors display full motion video playback as well as your standard text such as track status, radio station information and more depending on the receiver's features.

Additional Audio/Video Inputs
These inputs enable the unit to receive an audio or video signal from a separate source. There are many different types of connections and ways to accomplish this. Most common are RCA Composite cables and 3.5mm mini-jack plugs.

RCA Composite Inputs
These are your typical red, white, and yellow RCA composite cables that are common among devices with audio and video inputs. The red and white cables are dedicated for audio. The red cable is for the right channel and the white is for the left channel. The yellow cable is specifically for the video signal. Because this type of auxiliary cable contains 2 channels of audio, it will support stereo sound.

3.5mm
This is commonly referred to as a mini-jack or a headphone jack. It is a 3.5mm plug that transfers audio only. There is a right and left audio channel on the plug which allows for stereo sound playback.

3.5mm AV Input
These plugs look similar to the common 3.5mm mini-jack, however they carry a third channel dedicated for video.

Optional
This means that an auxiliary input is possible, but only with the use of an optional accessory. These optional adapters will sometimes use the CD Changer port or other port on the back of a unit that might restrict the use of other expandability features. These accessories are typically sold separately.

Front 3.5mm Audio Input

Yes
Screen Size
This is the size of the monitor on the unit. It is measured diagonally and in inches. The bigger the number the larger the screen.

MirrorLink Compatible
MirrorLink allows connectivity between a smartphone and the aftermarket car receiver. MirrorLink allows consumers to use their smartphones safely and simply, keeping eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
MobileLink MHL
Device Mirroring
This is the ability to "mirror" a device's screen (i.e SmartPhone or Tablet) onto the headunit's display. Please check with the manufacture's website for updated information regarding compatibility and cables required for proper performance.

Expandability Features

Navigation
Built-in navigation is a convenient feature that allows the driver to receive driving directions and guidance.

Some in-dash head units are built-in with the navigation features, while others require an add on navigation box. Other navigation options include portable navigation units that you can take with you or attach to the dash of your vehicle.

Simple/easy

December 12, 2014

This is a basic simple unit that just works for what it does. Nothing special here. It does not display music titles or names to phone numbers when connected via BT. Simple design and easy to figure out. Works with the backup camera I got for it.

Works Great

February 8, 2015

This head unit works and looks great in my dash! It's a major improvement from stock. It may not be the nicest unit in the world, but for the price it's preety close. Only complaint is that for some reason the Mobile Link feature doesn't work right in my dash. That could be because of the cable I ordered off of Amazon though.

Decent

March 19, 2015

This is a very decent head unit for the money. I would not recommend buying it though, there is no way to turn a sub woofer on even though it has many outputs and the Bluetooth has many problems with it. The unit freezes quite frequently causing you to have to reset it multiple times before it will function. I am no newbie to car audio and this is not a decent radio, if you are looking for a double din radio go with a well known brand like pioneer, sony, etc.

good price for a good radio

March 12, 2015

The price alone makes this a good buy. It has good interface with the Bluetooth and streams my music from my phone nicely. The mirror link is a nice option even though I have not used it yet.

Absolutely worse head unit

May 5, 2015

I would not recommend this unit to anyone. Mine does not shut off with the key off ( the backlit buttons stay on) and drains my DUAL batteries on my diesel within a few days. The only way to get it to turn off is to disconnect the accessory wire but then you lose the memory settings. The bluetooth has to be constantly paired up sometimes at every start up. the radio gets overly hot because its basically on a stand by mode drawing power.
The dvd graphics are ok but overall I strongly suggest to spend the extra few bucks and get a better unit to start with. Graphics are a joke. I should of stuck to Kenwood which was the brand i bought before. but I figured its just a work truck and i didn't want to spend a ton of money.

Very nice looking product with many cool features. The price is great also.

The mirror link at this price is what swayed me to get this model. I have owned other brands such as PT and SSL so i am comfortable geting a power Acoustik head unit.

Does this unit have Subwoofer output?
A shopper on Nov 25, 2014
Best Answer: It does, but when I hooked it up the sub would only play on the radio. When I used Bluetooth the sub didn't play, I don't know if it was the sub or the stereo. But the radio I have now plays the sub through Bluetooth and if your looking to play it loud, the stereo only goes up to thirty which is good but I wanted it louder so I bought a new one that was actually cheaper. This stereo has a nice display but I don't feel like it's the best fit to run a sub off of. Hope this helps.

Have a PD 620 HB head unit, I too get the red phone and x and audio will not play out of speakers. I have tried and reset head unit and alos disconnected battery. Neither solution removed the red phoneX...any other opotion?..GRRR just installed this 4 weeks ago and really liked the until till this happend.
David K on Apr 26, 2015
Best Answer: No I haven't had that happen but mine has a power issue and the backlit display stays on with key off. So my car batteries get drained and I have dual batteries. The stereo gets really hot because power is still fed to the unit. I replaced the wiring harness adapter but it still does the same thing. If you disconnect the accessory wire the unit shuts off but then it loses memory so you have to redo the presets and bluetooth connection. This was the most useless $160 I ever spent. i had to take it out and go buy another head unit.
I installed it a while after I received it so i cant even return it. I strongly suggest to anyone looking at purchasing this unit to go buy a better brand name unit. I went with Dual. Not much better in quality IMO but at least it turns off. if I had to do it all over I would of gone with a Kenwood which was what i usually get. But I figured its just a work truck I didn't want to put a bunch of money in a head unit. I should of. By the time you add the two cheap units i could of gotten an nicer main stream brand one.

My system has been hooked up and working fine for a about 30 day if not less and now it all of a sudden don't have any volume but still show the video....any idea of what could of happened? and if it can be fixed?
A shopper on Aug 3, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

We can only suggest checking the wiring. Clearly the headunit has power, so the only remaining wires is Audio. If all looks right from there, we recommend contacting the manufacture's tech support, and if all else fails our warranty department will replace the headunit .

Is a mounting kit needed for this stereo?
A shopper on Mar 11, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

Your vehicle determines if a Dash Kit is required, not the headunit. Add the headunit to your cart, enter your vehicle information when prompted, and allow the accessories to be added along with the headunit. Said accessories is what is needed to properly install the headunit.
