The best amp I have purchased so far
After reading a lot of other peoples opinions about how old school amps are way better I wasn't going to let that stop me from buying a name brand that has been out for many years. This is my first precision power amp and after installing it I have to say its worth the buy. In the past I owned rockford fosgate, kicker. power acoustik, jvc, pioneer, kenwood, infinity, many other brands and so far this amp is #1 on my list. I might purchase a 2nd one and push 2 powerful subs with them. Right now I have 2 mtx 12"s @ 2 ohms with a 30 farad power acoustik hybrid cap I purchased 7 years ago and I have more than enough power. I now wish I didn't get rid of my solo x 18 because I didn't have the power at the time.

I've had my PPI BA7000.1 for almost 9 months now, havn't had a single problem from it. I tried it out, let a friend use it for months, and now I'm back using it again. I clamped it the other day, wired 0.5 ohm nominal, clamped 48 amps at 46.7 volts, with basically all battery power. DC clamp on the input, the max it hit was 260 amps. I do see alot of high frequency ripple / noise on the scope, compared to other amps. The performance to price on this amp is great.

The first car stereo I installed went in my 1979 model Ford Pinto. It was March of 1980. It was a Sanyo in-dash tuner/receiver that didnt even have push-button tuning. Since then I've used Sparkomatic and Kraco, I've used JL and Kenwood I've used Blaupunkt and even Zapco and EVERYTHING in-between! From September of 1989 to December of 1991 I managed the highest volume Automotive Electronics retailer in the Dallas Ft Worth Metroplex. I have a very deep background in Car Stereo. Still, I've never, in all my years in Automotive electronics, gotten as much "BANG for the BUCK" as I got when I purchased my PPI BLACK ICE 7000.1 from Sonic Electronics.
These guys that say they used it and threw it out are telling on themselves.
If they threw THIS amplifier out they're FOOLS.
This thing HITS like a TRAIN. I'm running 6 Orion XTR 12s (4 dvc and 2 svc) presenting a 0.657 ohm load, low-crossed at 195. I can make it get hot but I CAN NOT MAKE IT SHUT DOWN.
This is without question the most value I've ever gotten out of a piece of auto-electronics gear. You CANT go wrong purchasing this one!
And if you say differently, you're only telling on YOURSELF

Common guy's! 2300 watts on a 1ohm load with 8ga wire? That should say it all. But don't take my word for it. Look at the reviews! LMAO! I want what their smoking! I picked up one at a flea market just for giggles and I'm still laughing. What's best about it was the ease of use. Hook it up, laugh at it and get rid of it. Don't get much easier than that!
