Installed In our suv mainly for the aux. input and rear camera inputs. I pull a camper so I use the aux video input on a camera mounted on the rear of our camper to watch the traffic behind me. Works great and has a clear picture. I like all the features on this low priced unit and would recommend it to anyone.

Love the design on this stereo! And this was the best price I could find for a stereo like this, and the others I saw didn't include all the necessary items for installation. Sound is great. Love this new stereo.

First the good, the unit was shipped promptly and arrived in short time. A-1 on the ordering and shipping process.
Now the bad, The unit would not fit my car until I cut out part of the inside of my dash, even through the Sonix site said it would fit my vehicle. Maybe they should add a caveat that if fits "with dash modification"
The radio itself leaves much to be desired. There is a huge jump in the volume between 6 and 7 as other posters have said. Very discerning trying to find a level not too loud and not too low.
The ability to get a good radio signal is very hard to do with this unit. I live maybe 10 to 15 miles from station antennas and this radio has difficulty keeping a clear signal.
When pressing on the settings button to change EQ or speaker settings, the unit will change to the settings page then quickly return back to the radio station page. The only way you can keep the settings page is going to the CD window and clicking to the setting page from there. I do not believe the radio was designed that way.
I will give credit, the DVD picture is crisp and has good sound.
I would not buy this radio again.

The Positives:
- Sounds Fine. FM/AM, Bluetooth for hands free phone, microSD, USB, CD player work very well.
- The unit looks to be well made.
- A major improvement to my stock OEM Scion xB radio! I am enjoying the upgrade.
The could be better:
- First of all, to mention that SonicElectronix was great accepting the returns of my first two units, both of which had a tendency to not boot up every couple of days which then required pushing the reset button to restore operation. Each occurrence necessitated resetting all of the date/time, station presets, and a few other settings. (But the previously saved equalizer settings weren't erased on the reset.) The 3rd unit,, which seems to be from a different production lot (because SonicElectronix had just received the shipment direct from Boss) does not have the same fault.
- With all three of the units I have had, the radio always resets to a firmware default equalizer setting. On my car, news radio speech comes across boomy. I have adjusted ALL the equalizer options to minimize the bass. Bass boost and loudness are off. When I go back to the radio, it accepts the equalizer settings .. Until I change the station. Then it's back to the boomy bass. However, the equalization presets to have on-going effect for my microSD music. Seems to be a firmware flaw.
- The other primary niggle I have is that navigating between modes is awkward. After pushing the volume button, the unit shows the mode selection screen. But instead of showing on the screen reasonably sized icons for all of the functions, it only shows several. Then one of three very small on the screen dots must be pushed to show a few more. Then another one of the small dots reveals the rest of the modes. These dots are really close together. They can't be readily seen in the daylight and are located right at the bottom of the touch screen which is partially blocked from easy finger access by the radio's frame. Very awkward to do while driving.
- There are few other unfortunates with the unit as others have mentioned. One is lack of a button to toggle brightness between daylight and night viewing. Another is the volume control is very sensitive. Two clicks raise the volume another notch. One click does not change. The volume jump between low (which is too low to hear well when the car is moving) to the next higher (sometimes seems too loud) is too stark. Nothing in between.
Summary:
- Not a bad choice for the $'s. All works. Sounds fine with ample volume. But as above, some features are awkward.
- One item I learned is it isn't a good idea to buy kits that also have the reverse camera. Upon receiving my first order, I installed the camera which took several hours because of the need to remove interior panels, drilling the camera hole in the bumper, soldering, etc. When the head unit proved defective, I began to think to exchange it for another model. But in order to get a complete refund or exchange for a different model, EVERYTHING in the kit needs to be returned. I wasn't about ready to take the reverse camera system apart again. So the only option was to exchange out the defective head unit for the same model. SonicElectronix will supply a new one upon return of the old one. As above, was attentive and responsive. And it has worked out in the end.
