Finally Components Worth Purchasing!
I've installed these into my Mercedes S550 connected to a JL Audio HD600/4 amp which delivers 150 W x 4 @ 1.5-4 ?. I replaced a set of Jl Audio C5-653 in front doors and C5-650 in rear doors due to issues with them handling 125 W per channel and crossover sensor cutting out tweeter when playing loud music. I replace them with Crescendo Audio Mezzo SQ2 Components in both locations; However, 125 W per channel was causing Crossover to overheat and deform so had to back them down to 100 W per channel. The MTX SS7 replaced the front doors and they sound great @ 125 W per channel to break them in, first since I've been thru a lot with components that can't handle 100 - 125 W per channel let alone 150 W per channel so I want to break them in before giving them 150 W per channel. Finally a set of components that can handle my amp specs. So far they sound great and they are not being drowned out with the bass in my trunk; A pair of 12W6v3's connected to a JL Audio HD1200/1 amp which delivers 1200 W x 1 @ 1.5-4 ?. Everything tied into factory head unit using Audio Control LC7i. These MTX SS7 like to be turned up and they sound great when played very loud. I will be purchasing another set to replace my rear door components once I run out of extra parts when things goes wrong. Then I will finally be able to tune both front and rear doors to 150 W per channel. I can only imagine how that will sound. My only regret is not finding these MTX SS7 's first! I could've saved a small fortune!

Been doing my own installs for about twenty five years now and finally found a component set that can handle some power while still sounding great! I have two pairs of the Mtx SS7s in my quad cab Gmc Canyon(custom Install)pushed by an Mtx TE7804(bench tested at 127watts x 4rms) and the sound is incredible! Finally some speakers that can take what this amp dishes out producing crisp and loud mids and highs! I like to rock it pretty loud with no distortion so these are worth every penny! To finish the 'surround sound' I recently installed a pair of Mtx Thunder35 speakers in my dash middle a/c vents powered by my head unit and wow! Perfection! Providing the low end of my soundstage is an Mtx Thunderform enclosure with an Mtx FPR10-04 pushed by an Mtx 601d. This is the first time I've run only one sub in a vehicle but I wanted to save space yet still have some bass. This Thunderform enclosure is impressive. I don't miss having a second sub at all. You would think I had a pair of tens or a 12 in my truck! That and 90% of the enclosure fits under the rear seat. Can't beat it. I know I must sound like an Mtx salesman but I've used all the top brands over the years and this stuff for me is the best. That and I have gotten the best prices and service for years now from Sonicelectronix. Thanks again, guys!

found this helpful.Mtx pulled out the stops on this pair of comps!
Now when I think hifi I don’t generally think MTX. I usually think Focal, Hertz, Rockford...when I think of Mtx I think high powered and good prices! But they certainly threw me for a loop with these components!! These are excellent comps! Comparable to Hertz, Focals, & the other high end (entry to mid-level-high end I mean)! Why spend $1500 on utopias or $1000 on Millines, when you can spend $325ish on these beasts and get near the same sound?!

Kicks kickers @%#. My only regret is buying kickets garbage first. I could have used that on a 2nd set of these. Excellent sound quality. Built right.
