Kicker Audio Store

The Perfect Indoor/Outdoor Speakers

The flexible KB6000 Full-Range Enclosure System continues to find itself in all kinds of spaces and places, and the newest rendition of KICKER’s “every-place” audio system is built specifically for just that.

The KB6000 is now a full-range, high-efficiency speaker system truly suitable for indoor and outdoor use, providing an 8-Ohm load and ready to be driven by home stereo receivers. That legendary KICKER sound is now made to rock from a backyard deck, under the eaves, or near the pool, and it still provides great sound on a boat, off-road vehicle or RV.

This white or black, dual-enclosure system features bold 6-1/2 -inch KICKER woofers and 2 x 5-inch, compression-loaded horn tweeters firing a favorite music mix. The woofers utilize precisely tuned polypropylene cones and rugged Santoprene surrounds. The system acoustically blends with a 12dB/octave low-pass crossover with impedance compensation to nail that signature sound.

The solid molded enclosures protect the audio components from weather, and they can be mounted with stainless-steel hardware at several angles for easy installation. Spring-loaded terminals allow for fast and easy wiring connections.

Speaker Design

Speaker Type
The type of speaker determines the use that the speaker is intended for. Some speakers are manufactured specifically for home use while others are made for professional use.
Multi-Purpose Home Speakers
All-Weather/ Water-Resistant
All-weather and water-resistant speakers are made to withstand the elements. They usually have been treated with a protective coating to shield against all types of weather. From wet to dry, hot to cold, these speakers are prepared. Speakers that are water-resistant are not to be submerged in water.
Yes
Professional/ DJ Equipment
This feature designates if the speaker is designed for professional use. Professional products consist of high end PA (Public Address) systems, DJ Equipment, Karaoke equipment, and other uses that require a high end unit.
No
Indoor/Outdoor Speaker
This designates whether the speaker is intended for indoor use or outdoor use.

Outdoor
Multi-Purpose Speaker
This designates if the speaker can be used for multiple activities. Can be hooked up to anything that uses a 3.5mm headphone jack, such as a CD/MP3 player or a computer.

Speaker Specifications

Tweeter Design
Designs such as cone, dome, semi-dome, balanced dome, and whizzer are most popular. Cone tweeters are simple, efficient and typically are the most reasonably priced. Dome tweeters are used in most home speakers, and provide a smoother and more accurate sound. Semi-dome design is one with a dome placed inside a cone. A Balanced dome driver is a semi-dome with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the driver. A whizzer tweeter is a separate tweeter cone driven by the voice coil of the woofer.
Horn
Woofer Composition
Lightweight woofer cone materials are essential for efficient operation. Poly cones produce exceptional sound and are sturdy against various changes in temperature. Paper cones are very efficient, and when treated for moisture resistance, will perform at a high level. Poly refers to polypropylene, which is thermoplastic or fibers that are polymers of propylene. IMPP refers to injection molded polypropylene, a commonly used process and material in speakers.
Polypropylene
Woofer Surround
A speakers surround is part of the suspension system. The surround protects the cone and prevents it from being displaced as it flexes out from the basket. It is usually made of a durable material like treated foam or rubber in order to withstand the strenuous job of producing bass frequencies.
Santoprene Rubber
Peak Power Handling
Peak power handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle during a brief musical burst. The RMS power range figure is a much more reliable rating for determining the speaker's power requirements. The Peak power handling specification is typically rated per speaker unless otherwise noted.
150 watts
RMS Power Handling
The RMS power is the amount of power the speaker requires to operate safely and properly. RMS Power Handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle on a continuous basis. We recommend powering your speakers or subwoofer with 80%-120% of its recommended RMS rating. The RMS power handling specification is typically rated per speaker unless otherwise noted.
75 watts
Impedance (Per Voice Coil)
The load value (in ohms) that the speakers present to the amplifier per voice coil - the amount of resistance to the current flow. This is a key specification as subs wired in parallel or low impedances can create problems with your amplifier and potentially void all warranties. We encourage you to ask our support department prior to purchase if you do not understand which impedance level will suit your application best.
8 ohms
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
55 - 21,000 Hz
Terminal Type
Spring clip terminals work best with bare wire connections with small-gauge speaker wire, or pin-type connectors.

Binding post terminals are a sturdier, more versatile type of speaker terminal. Because binding post terminals are are threaded, you can tighten them down against the wire or connector for a tight, clean connection. The most popular style of binding post terminals is known as a "5-way binding post". This type can accept bare wire, or any of the common speaker wire connectors. Binding posts with the option to be used with banana clips are even more versatile

Spring posts are a hybrid of the two. Instead of using a thread and "screwing" them tight, they use a spring to allow the wire to fit and tighten against the terminal.

Binding posts
1/4" Phone Jack
A 1/4" Phone jack can be used to connect the speakers to the audio source. The jack can usually be found on the terminals. The 1/4" phone jack can be used instead of connecting speaker wires to the terminals. If the output source supports this jack, a lot of time can be saved when setting up and taking down equipment.
No
3.5mm Stereo Jack
Uses a 3.5mm stereo jack to connect to an audio source. This is the common size found on most CD and Mp3 players, as well as most home computers.
No
Horn
A horn is found on some loudspeakers to increase the efficiency of the driving element. Often found in PA systems, horns are typically used to increase the high sound levels
No
Sensitivity
An efficiency or sensitivity rating tells you how effectively a speaker converts power into sound. The higher the number, the more efficient the speaker and the louder it will play with the same input power. An efficient speaker helps you maximize your available power. Most sensitivity ratings measure the speaker's output with 1 watt of input, 1 meter from the speaker. Some speakers' sensitivity is measured with 2.83 volts of input, instead of 1 watt.

Efficiency (1w/1m) is not an accurate indicator of a subwoofer's output capability and should not be used as a comparison to other speakers or subwoofers to determine which one is "louder".

Box Exterior Color
The color of the enclosure's exterior/outer finish.
White
Enclosure Material
The material that the speaker enclosure is made of. While some speakers have a painted plastic housing, others have a carpeted wood enclosure. Depending on the material, some speakers are more durable than other. Common materials include: Plastic, MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), treated plywood, and high-impact polypropylene.
High-Impact Polypropylene

The width of the item from left to right (side-to-side) measured in inches.
8-1/8"

The height of the item, measured from top to bottom, in inches.
