SLAPS (Earthquake)
Subwoofer Size
Refers to the diameter of the subwoofer, measured in inches.
12"
Subwoofer Design
This is the design of the subwoofer or the opening of the subwoofer enclosure. Each design has it's own benefits, whether it is a square, circle, or oval.

Round/Circle: This is the typical and common subwoofer design. They have a round cone and are a circle in design.

Square: These woofers are able to achieve a greater cone area in a smaller space. Because of the greater surface area, some square subwoofers will be louder than a round subwoofer of the same size.

Round / Circle
Main Cone Color
This is the color of the speaker's or subwoofer's cone.
Black
Woofer Surround
A speakers surround is part of the suspension system. The surround protects the cone and prevents it from being displaced as it flexes out from the basket. It is usually made of a durable material like treated foam or rubber in order to withstand the strenuous job of producing bass frequencies.
Wide Foam

Recommended Enclosure Specifications

Top-Mount Depth
The depth when installed on top of the mounting surface. Measured from the bottom of the speaker's magnet to the bottom of the mounting holes on the rim of the speaker.

Really nice !

August 26, 2015

This 12” passive radiator, working in conjunction with my 10” sub-woofer, BLOWS-AWAY my Infinity bass-link that was in the trunk of my 1999 Mazda Protégé for about 5 years. It's also tight, and has PLENTY of bottom-end !

What I have:
amplifier for sub-woofer (Precision Power i650.1)
sub-woofer (Earthquake Sound DB10)
passive radiator (Earthquake Sound SLAPS-M12)
sealed sub-woofer enclosure (Belva MDFS12)
receiver (Kenwood KDC-X898)

I have one of these in a 1.4cf box with a Pioneer TSW1200 pro. I removed the 255 gram weight that it came with and installed 10 grams with washers. It's now tuned to 34hz and sounds fantastic. Good low end. Better than the ported. No port noise and and it's easier on the subwoofer. I am using the sub channel of my Massive Audio NX3 (400 watts at 2ohms).

Good match for my DC sub to increase output in a smaller than optimal box for porting. Should go good under the seat of my Ram with a 1000 watts on one 12.

how much weight can you add to the slaps ?
errol R on Mar 11, 2016
Best Answer: There for small boxes, and you tune them easy by adding more washers, tell you get the sound you like,it helps move more air, like a large perfect ported enclosure box, that's it.

I HAVE A 15IN AUDIOPIPE SUB IN A 6.5 CUBIC FOOT CUSTOM FRONTFIRING FRONT POERTED BOX WITH A SOLID 2IN SHELL ALL THE WAY AROUND TUNED TO 20HZ WOULD IT BE GOOD T0 PUT 2 OF THESE IN WITH THE MAIN DRIVER 1 ABOVE THE SUB FACING FORWARD AN 1 ON THE BOTTOM WOULD THIS BE A GOOD SET UP OR OVERKILL ANY THOUGTHS I NEW AT CUSTOM BUILDIN AN MY AMP IS PUSHIN 750WATTS AT 4OHMS PER CHANNELL BY THE WAY ?
JOHNNY on Oct 6, 2016
Best Answer: Adding, another sub,15 inch or two 10 inch subs would be the best option for the size of the box that you have, and retune your box to 30 to 35hz,because you get more db out of your ported sub box what your getting, but if you want to try 2 of the 12" slaps you will need to build a sealed box 3 cubic foot ,and mount the 15" sub firing to the back and mount the 12" slaps on the sides or the same side as your 15',the slaps are for smaller boxes to give a subwoofer more volume space tuning, and air movement, you can tune the slaps by just adding more washers, tell you like the way your sub sounds,it's that easy, and there is db apps out there to get the most volume out of your tuning,if you just what it to be loud, hope this helps,I started back in the 80's doing the same thing your doing, just have fun,add bigger everything is my motto!

Best Answer: I don't know. Call the manufacture. You might have to use 2 passive radiators in your sealed enclosure. Research passive radiator designs. It is quite informative. Though you will get some information referring to home theater, a good portion of it is relevant to car audio.Enter an answer to this question.
