Line-Out Converter Specifications

Number of Channels
Each channel on an amplifier will power one speaker using a positive and negative cable. There are various types of amplifiers, each designed to power a certain number of speakers. Monoblock amplifiers, also known as single channel, are designed to power one or more subwoofers. These amplifiers often have very high power ratings. On the other hand, multi-channel amplifiers power multiple speakers, usually at lower power ratings. 2-Channel and 4-Channel amplifiers can power car speakers or low powered subwoofers. Occasionally you might see a 5 or 6-channel amplifier that can power speakers and subwoofers at the same time. The most common setup is a monoblock amp to run subwoofers and a 4-channel amp to run door speakers. Check out our Knowledge Base for more information.

Worked great for a day...

April 5, 2016

I thought this would be a great way to get a signal to my amp, just adding bass to stock system. It worked for a day, now I am not getting a signal to the amp. I trouble shot the amp and sub, they were working... this is the only thing left but it's deep in the dash and haven't had time to take it to the shop to pull it apart.

so basically i take the + and the - from my rear speakers and connect them to the unit? and what if my rear deck speakers are run in parallel with my rear door speakers. I have a volvo s 60 2.5t 2004 it is confusing and i bought this unit to make things easier because i like the stock deck and didnt want to have to replace it
James S on Jun 10, 2015
Best Answer: It was a little confusing for me too. But hooking it up wsn't too hard once I figured it out. I hooked the two positive to a positive wire going to one of my rear speakers and the two negative to a negative wire to the same speaker. Then ran the remote wire and that was it. The ignition wire wsn't necessary in my case, so I just capped it off. I only hooked it to one speaker and it works fine for me. I wouldn't figure it would matter how you have yours run parallel. Hope this helped.

Does the remote volume controller Plug into the Line out converter box to control the input volume to the Amp? or does the volume controller need to be plugged into the Amplifier? Thanks, Scott
A shopper on Sep 25, 2014
Best Answer: It has a wire and a plug that plugs into a socket on the LOC box. U wn't even need the remote wire from ur stereo/head unit. The blue wire coming off the LOC sends a signal to the remote switch on your amp.
