If you’ve already got the RUE-M1RF kit, and you’d like to add an additional remote, the RUE-M1EX is the one you’re looking for.
Previous Extended Operation remotes typically used infrared (IR) designs, which made them poorly suited for the outdoor boating environment because sun reflection interfered with the IR remote eye. The new Alpine RUE-M1RF and RUE-M1EX marine remote system uses RF (radio frequency) technology to avoid this problem. Now you can control your sound system with the remote from up to 100 feet away!
For use with the Alpine RUE-M1RF remote system. You can program up to eight remote controls on your boat with the RUE-M1RF system and RUE-M1EX remotes. Item includes 30 days SonicElectronix.com warranty.

- ATSM-B117 testing for salt/fog to prevent corrosion
- UV weathering resistance (ASTM G154/D4329)
- NEMA IP67 tested for dust and water submersion protection

Bought extra remotes for Alpine unit in boat. The remotes have great range. The stereo is in the cabin and I can be on the next boat over in a tie up and still control the stereo volume, etc. It can be taken apart easily and painted something other than black for looks and add a key float to keep from loosing it. Very happy with the remotes.
