The remote start system supplies the vehicle with power and simulates a start just as if you were inside using the key. Select vehicles require additional accessories or immobilizer/bypass modules to use the remote start feature.

just trying for the first time, getting ready for the cold season
Alexander F on Sep 2, 2015
I just purchased a Honda 2105 CRV. I had the dealer install a remote starter, which I assumed to be an offical Honda add-on accessory The device does start the engine, but then I can't unlock the car using the separate keyless remote. I have to shut off the engine, unlock the doors, then start the engine again. This doesn't seem practical. Am I missing something here?
