Speaker Box / Enclosure Specifications

Subwoofer Size
Refers to the diameter of the subwoofer, measured in inches.
12"
Subwoofer Cutout Shape
This is the shape of the enclosures cutout hole and defines the style of subwoofer that can be installed.
Round / Circle
Box Type
Represents the style of the enclosure. Be sure to purchase the appropriate enclosure type and internal volume that will be compatible with your subwoofer's recommendation.

Sealed - Sealed boxes are those that have no holes or vents in it. The only hole in a sealed box is where the subwoofer is installed. Smaller sealed boxes require more power than a larger sealed box. They provide a tight, accurate bass, while the larger sealed enclosures provide a "boomier" and louder bass.

Ported / Vented - Ported/Vented Enclosures provide an even boomier, louder bass, but less accurate then a small, sealed box. Ported enclosures typically require more airspace per sub and also less power output from an amplifier to perform correctly.

Bandpass - Bandpass enclosures make subwoofers perform efficiently, but loose. The bass is not as "boomy" as a ported enclosure nor as punchy as a sealed enclosure. Bandpass enclosures work well with lower to mid-level subwoofers.
Ported Bandpass
Number of Subs/Speakers
This value represents the number of speakers or subwoofers that the enclosure accommodates.
1
Box Style/Shape
The box style or shape refers to the actual shape of the box. Square and rectangular boxes are straight-edged boxes on all sides, whereas hatchback and truck style enclosures feature an angled front or back design that allows for installation in places short on depth such as single cab pickup trucks. You can also use such enclosures in hatchback cars or other vehicles where space is a premium. Tube and cylinder shaped boxes were made popular by Bazooka and are a great option for those looking for a nice amount of bass without sacrificing lots of space. They may even fit in locations that slim truck boxes cannot fit in. If the enclosure is vehicle specific, we encourage you to read the product description to find out which vehicles the enclosure is made for.
Square/Rectangle
Cutout Diameter or Length
The actual diameter of the hole in the subwoofer box. Length is the measured length per side of a square subwoofer or speaker opening.
11"
Maximum Speaker Depth
Your subwoofer or speaker must not exceed this dimension in order to properly mount in this enclosure.
8"
Total Box Volume
The internal volume measurement in cubic feet before subwoofer magnet displacement.
0.99 cubic feet
Box Volume (Each Chamber)
This is the total air space inside each chamber of the empty subwoofer enclosure. By matching this value with the recommended air space of the subwoofer, you will be able to know if the subwoofer will match this box.
Height
The height of the item, measured from top to bottom, in inches.
14-1/8"
Width
The width of the item from left to right (side-to-side) measured in inches.
25-1/4"
Depth
The front-to-rear depth of the item, in inches. If the item is angled or slanted, this value is the bottom measurement.
17-1/8"
Wood Thickness
The thickness of the wood the enclosure is made of, measured in inches.
3/4"
Number of Terminals
The number of terminals the enclosure has. Each terminal represents 1 positive and 1 negative.
1
Terminal Type
Spring clip terminals work best with bare wire connections with small-gauge speaker wire, or pin-type connectors.

Binding post terminals are a sturdier, more versatile type of speaker terminal. Because binding post terminals are are threaded, you can tighten them down against the wire or connector for a tight, clean connection. The most popular style of binding post terminals is known as a "5-way binding post". This type can accept bare wire, or any of the common speaker wire connectors. Binding posts with the option to be used with banana clips are even more versatile

Spring posts are a hybrid of the two. Instead of using a thread and "screwing" them tight, they use a spring to allow the wire to fit and tighten against the terminal.

Spring posts (banana clip ready)
Box Exterior Color
The color of the enclosure's exterior/outer finish.
Black
Box Finish
The material used on the outside of the box. Most boxes are carpeted to prevent exterior scratches; however vinyl is popular as it can often be color-matched to a near exact look of your leather factory interior.
Carpet
Tuning Frequency
Compatible Vehicle Make and Model
The model of vehicle that this vehicle specific product is designed for. Please keep in mind that engine variations can affect the compatibility of the products.

Port Details

Number of Ports
The number of ports the enclosure has.
1
Tuning Frequency
Port Diameter
The outside diameter of the port. Check the product's owner's manual for the recommended port diameter for your sub.
1-7/8" x 12-5/8"

No!! Their all gonna laugh at u

March 25, 2011

Every single person I have talked to about buying a bandpass box told me that they are " one note wonders" , and the worst possible box for someone interested in sound quality. And they are right about that when u listen to most of the ready to load BPass boxes out there. I have heard some terrible ones before and they are very one note oriented. ALTHOUGH.... This BPass box is designed properly and I'm sick of all these audio guys saying they are ALL worthless. Before I installed this with a JBL GTO1214D w/ Alpine MRP500 monoblock amp, I had two Alpine Type-S in a ported box. The BPass is far superior. I can now feel the bass kick drum in my chest. My car rattles much less. The bass is deeper and tighter, notes that were absent before have come to life. I listen to a lot of dubstep and hip hop/ ghetto tech music. The ported box shook the heck out of my car yet the bass was so mushy and undefined. The BPass is so much more responsive and flat. So if u want a box that growls with the deep lows this is it. I was so impressed that I went to a shop where they had tried to talk me out of this and laughed at me like I was an idiot. They would not come out to have a listen when I told them it was amazing. Why not listen... Afraid of finding your wrong??? Anyway, I'm not one of those guys who thinks a system that can shake cars 100ft away is indicative of a good system. I actually am very picky with sound quality. I have been in bands as a guitarist and understand the different ways u can manipulate your guitar amp to achieve what it is your looking for. In my car before I was constantly adjusting the amplifier to match what sounded best for a handful of songs while others lacked. Now I find I dont need to do that. The bass is just sick for everything now. I only control the volume level of the sub output now from the deck. Install this in your setup and I promise u will make people who hear it shut there mouths about the popular trend towards hating BPass boxes. Ok this box is not expensive at all and worth the buy. The only thing I didn't like about the product was that I had to do some minor sanding at the port to remove some excess glue drips and a small portion of the carpet needed to be glued better. Lastly, I had to cut a few small triangular pieces of wood out of the plexi glass compartment to be able to get the subcon there. My sub was large and would guess that a lot of other people had the same problem. Just expect to have to do that unless Sonic tells u that your sub will fit. I would recommend having them make a note of that conformation with one of their representatives so they can fix that problem by reimbursement. If they say the sub will fit and it doesn't, I would hope they would do something about it.

this is the one

December 4, 2009

okay guys. im sick of seeing what people are calling bandpass boxes. ive been making these boxes for 3 years now and ive never seen a true bandpass box on any website till now. this thing is the real deal. they're designed to make the most bass possible with about 300 or so watts and they do it very well. not only that but they are very versatile in that they can accurately produce higher bass note but also take your breath away with the lows. you can see the difference in this box and the other bandpass's is that the others don't have what is called the echo chamber, which is essential in achieving the efficiency that this style box is designed to have.

guys, the bottom line is, if you want a really hard hitting system without spending a lot of money or killing your alternator. then this box will do that for you. it can make almost any cheap sub sound pretty d@#n good. or if you really wanna do something extreme and still stay on budget, then buy two.

Great box!!!

February 20, 2011

I would definitely recommend this box to anyone who needs a box for one sub. This box is perfect, I have a 07 model 12in 2ohm Kicker CVR wired to 4ohms matched up with an Alpine MRP-M500 and all three sound so amazing together.. such clean and clear sound that I never thought a bandpass box could make, I never liked bandpass boxes till this one!!
A couple cons would be poor paint coverage in venting and inside the box behind the venting.. It only comes with 2 screws for the plexiglass as shown in the picture, if anyone noticed :D

Awesome

April 12, 2010

I own this particular box because I used to have one very similar that was for a single 10". I had a feeling this box would produce insane bass coupled with a good sub. I have a ppi pcx124 wired at 2ohms being pushed by an alpine mrp m500 and it is insane. This combination absolutely crushes. The bass, bass response, and spl are just outstanding. If your looking for a box that will give you sound output equal to two or more subs, this is the box for you.
