This stereo features Apple CarPlay - a smarter, safer way to use your iPhone in the car. CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and puts them right on your head unit's display. You can get directions, make and receive calls and messages, and listen to music. Just plug in your iPhone and go! You can learn all about Apple Carplay on the Sonic Electronix blog here.

NOTE*: Due to various issues with iOS 8, not all AppRadio Mode applications function properly. For updates on what apps will function with iOS 8, check here.
FOR DISPLAY/OFF-ROAD PURPOSES ONLY: For the new 2015 Pioneer AVIC-NEX models, these headunits will not require an interface, switch, etc. to bypass the video-in-motion lock feature. There is a "secret" hidden button in the software that allows you to bypass the lock. Here is how to do it:

Overall Happy!
Overall, I am very happy with my navigation stereo. It took me a little bit to get the hang on using it. I didn't read the manual though. It wasn't really convenient to have the manual only on cd when the radio is in my car! But, I'm getting the hang on it. I wish that you could change the voice on the navigation but maybe I just haven't figured out how. The default at least talks really slow. I love how when I'm listening to audio, the bottom of the screen will display the road I'm on or what turn is next. I also like that when you are using the navigation, the screen displays the house/property numbers for both sides of the road which is great for poorly marked buildings. I did have one instance where the system completely froze up but I'm hoping it was a fluke and won't happen again!

found this helpful.Best unit out there..
This is my 2nd go around with a navigation unit. I originally purchased a Clarion NX-405. It was great for the price but I kept having issues with the navigation. Sonic worked with me and I went with this Pioneer AVIC-6100NEX. Wow.. this unit has everything you need and works flawlessly.. I have only had it for a few days but it is blowing my mind at how well it works. I have absolutely no complaints about this unit. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a top of the line Nav unit!

found this helpful.The right choice
My wife wanted an upgrade to the sound system I her 2012 Scion xB. She ask that the new system have GPS, Bluetooth, an backup camera and great sound. The system needed to be easy to use. I looked at systems at local dealers and stores, then did a months worth of research on-line. Narrowed my search to Pioneer then had to decide which system would work best for her. I did not find the model I wanted locally so I had to find the best value from an on-line shop. Sonic Electronix provided the most options at the best price thus making them the best value provided in my book. Their estimated shipping date and delivery schedule was spot on and the packaging could not have been better. I have the unit installed by a local professional and my wife is ecstatic about the performance with everything. Definitely the right choice for me and I would recommend Sonic to others.
