great choice and performance
06 Ram 1500 laramie upward firing at 1.5 ohm in a sealed 1.3cu ft enclosure under rear seat seat with a 500 rms amp. Subs have good base production with accuracy. Full excursion generates high spl levels and no bad roll off. From 25-55 hertz the performance is more than good. Price is good for a quality sub.

I purchased this sub for my Miata project car after going through JL, Alpine & Precision Power subs. Those previous subs have all been powered by the same Alpine mrv-500 (going from memory, it's 300x1 @ 4 ohm) amp.
For reference, the rest of the system is a RetroSound head, Alpine mrv-300 (50x4 @ 4 ohm), Alpine mrv-500 (300x1 @ 4 ohm). 4 channel amp pushing Morel Maximo coaxials in doors & (cheapo) Pyle mid bass behind seats. The sub amp is obviously powering this sub. The car has RaamMat through the entire interior & doors. I normally listen to old school rap, trap, edm, alt rock/grunge, and classic rock normally - emphasis on rap & trap music though. My daily driver GT86 has the factory upgraded BeSpoke stereo with a Precision Power sub & Precision Power amp (for sub).
I have had a 5 channel Cadence amp & Cadence components in a previous daily driver VW GTI & was impressed, so after I had blown through the other subs, I thought I'd give the Cadence one a try. The enclosure is about .45 cuft sealed. I have installed it for about 3 weeks & have about 4-5 hours (at most) on the sub, so it's not totally "broken in" yet.
I can safely say at this point it sounds much better than all the other subs I have had. The lows (approx under 60 hz) are deep and unmuffled, and it hits very accurate. I set the crossover point at about 110 hz. The sub has a pretty big excursion & although you can have the sub in a small sealed enclosure as I have, I have a feeling it would really shine in a slightly larger (.75 cuft) ported enclosure. Even how I have it - I have zero complaints. Cadence provides excellent paperwork & graphs outlining performance expectations given the different enclosure types - something I wish all manufacturers did.
If I could change anything about this sub, it would be that I wish there was some sort of grille/protection for it. It comes with a trim ring, but I have to be mindful what I put in my trunk so as not to harm the sub. Also I'm not a fan of the "badge" on the cone of the sub, it makes it look "cheap" - but aesthetics's are objective I suppose.
Overall, so far it's literally one of the best value for subs I have ever had in the 25 years of my tinkering with car audio (and well over 30 different subs). This is very high praise. I would put Cadence equipment up there with the best, most respected names in car audio & not think twice.
