Should I fuse this when I run from alternator to battery?
GregR on May 31, 2015
Best Answer: It's not necessary to, but if you have a run of wire over 6' feet or so, that's when you would start thinking about a fuse junction. Longer runs will have a greater chance of a wire rub happening, and the fuse will save you from a wire melt and possibly a fire. Also, keep fuses as close to the power source as possible, in the event of an overload of some kind this will give the fuse the fastest response time, possibly saving you from damaged equipment. Hope I could help :)

what size fuse would you reconmend for this kit?
Scott A on Jun 29, 2015
Best Answer: The kit does not determine the fuse size . Add up all the fuses on the amps you are powering and you should be in the ballpark. As a rule of thumb, it is not wise to use anything over a 180- 200 amp fuse on any single power wire if possible .

If i have the amp with the 35x4/5 A fuse , and 0 gauge cables , which comes with 300 A fuse, it's ok or not ? ( I have the sub NVX VCW 12" 850-1000 watt rms rated). Maybe I should use 4 gauge ? But I like 0 gauge..
Gelu P on Jan 5, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Gelu,

Bigger is always better, when talking Power/Ground and Big 3 Upgrade Kits. In fact, some enthusiasts will even run a DOUBLE strand of 0 gauge Power/Ground on a MODEST setup. So, we suggest sticking to the 0 Gauge if you can manage.

I'm looking to do the "Big 4," which is b+ to alt+, b- to engine block, alt- (alt shell) to engine block. I already have the necessary extra length of 1/0 gauge. My alternator is rated at 105A, so when I fuse the alt+ to b+, how big should I go?
I'm currently upgrading my system, I have 2 Rockford Fosgate P3-D4-12's which will be powered by an Audiopipe 1500 monoblock APCL-15001D at 600 rms, 4-ohms. I'm planning on having a secondary battery in the trunk hooked up to the primary. Any suggestions with my set-up?
