    Subwoofer Specifications

    Subwoofer Series
Each subwoofer manufactured is part of a series. This is the name of the subwoofer's series.
    Champion PRO (Pioneer)
    Subwoofer Size
Refers to the diameter of the subwoofer, measured in inches.
    12"
    Peak Power Handling
Peak power handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle during a brief musical burst. The RMS power range figure is a much more reliable rating for determining the speaker's power requirements. The Peak power handling specification is typically rated per speaker unless otherwise noted.
    2000 watts
    RMS Power Handling
The RMS power is the amount of power the speaker requires to operate safely and properly. RMS Power Handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle on a continuous basis. We recommend powering your speakers or subwoofer with 80%-120% of its recommended RMS rating. The RMS power handling specification is typically rated per speaker unless otherwise noted.
    600 watts
    Voice Coil(s)
Dual voice coil subs have more wiring flexibility than single voice coils subs; however, single voice coil subwoofers provide easier hookup options for wiring multiple subwoofers in parallel or series. You may also run a dual voice coil (DVC) sub in parallel, series, or combination. A quad voice coil has four voice coils and is equal to two dual voice coil subwoofers as far as wiring goes.
    Dual
    Impedance (Per Voice Coil)
The load value (in ohms) that the speakers present to the amplifier per voice coil - the amount of resistance to the current flow. This is a key specification as subs wired in parallel or low impedances can create problems with your amplifier and potentially void all warranties. We encourage you to ask our support department prior to purchase if you do not understand which impedance level will suit your application best.
    4 ohms
    Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
    20 - 80 Hz
    Sensitivity
An efficiency or sensitivity rating tells you how effectively a speaker converts power into sound. The higher the number, the more efficient the speaker and the louder it will play with the same input power. An efficient speaker helps you maximize your available power. Most sensitivity ratings measure the speaker's output with 1 watt of input, 1 meter from the speaker. Some speakers' sensitivity is measured with 2.83 volts of input, instead of 1 watt.

Efficiency (1w/1m) is not an accurate indicator of a subwoofer's output capability and should not be used as a comparison to other speakers or subwoofers to determine which one is "louder".
    96 dB
    Subwoofer Design
This is the design of the subwoofer or the opening of the subwoofer enclosure. Each design has it's own benefits, whether it is a square, circle, or oval.

Round/Circle: This is the typical and common subwoofer design. They have a round cone and are a circle in design.

Square: These woofers are able to achieve a greater cone area in a smaller space. Because of the greater surface area, some square subwoofers will be louder than a round subwoofer of the same size.

    Round / Circle
    Main Cone Color
This is the color of the speaker's or subwoofer's cone.
    Black
    Woofer Composition
Lightweight woofer cone materials are essential for efficient operation. Poly cones produce exceptional sound and are sturdy against various changes in temperature. Paper cones are very efficient, and when treated for moisture resistance, will perform at a high level. Poly refers to polypropylene, which is thermoplastic or fibers that are polymers of propylene. IMPP refers to injection molded polypropylene, a commonly used process and material in speakers.
    Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) Composite
    Woofer Surround
A speakers surround is part of the suspension system. The surround protects the cone and prevents it from being displaced as it flexes out from the basket. It is usually made of a durable material like treated foam or rubber in order to withstand the strenuous job of producing bass frequencies.
    Elastic Polymer
    Magnet Structure
Defines the overall structure of the subwoofers magnet.
    Subwoofer Grille
Most subwoofers are able to accommodate a universal grille; however, some subs include a grille and others have a specific, optional grille available for purchase separately. If "yes", then the subwoofer includes a grille. If "optional (sold separately)" the matching grille will need to be purchased in addition to the sub.
    Re-Cone Kit Available
Some higher end subwoofers have replaceable cone assemblies. In case of a blown woofer, a recone kit allows for a simple replacement, as opposed to purchasing an entire new subwoofer.

    Recommended Enclosure Specifications

    Recommended Enclosure Type
This is the recommended type of enclosure that the subwoofer should be installed into. Some subwoofers are specially designed for particular enclosures.

Sealed: These enclosures completely enclose the air inside the box. These boxes produce a tight bass.

Ported/Vented: These enclosures have a slot of air to escape from the box. The result is a sound that has more "boom".

Bandpass: These are a combination of both sealed and ported enclosures. They can be very efficient, but require tuning for the best response.

I bought a new car and had a great experience with the 10" model and decided to put a single speaker in the new ride and 12" was the way to go. Sonic has the absolute best prices for this product.

I've very impressed with how many reviews are out there for this sub! Not only can i not find someone who was disappointed, there are a million people who said they were surprised with just how good it turned out to be, especially for the low price.

Was wondering if i could put this sub in a ported box?
    Austin M on Aug 24, 2014
    Best Answer: Hello Austin,

Absolutely. There is nothing suggesting you can't. As a matter of fact, Pioneer's Recommended Enclosure [Ported] volume is 1.25 cu. ft per Sub.

I recently purchase a pair of these champion pro 12's. I am going to run them with a pioneer GM-D9601 in a sealed box. I wanted to run them at 2ohms each giving the amp an overall 1 ohm load. Is this the best way to optimize the power of the amp ? And if so, what is the proper way to wire the subs ? do I run loops from voice coil to voice coil on each sub and use 2 channels on the amp, or do I cross terminals from sub to sub and run just one channel on the amp ? the manual on the amp is VERY unclear.
    ken s on Jan 8, 2015
Best Answer: Ken this subs. are very nice jest go + to + and - to - the amp will give the most of it at 1Hom If you have space for a custom box ported you will get louder and if build correctly you will get better SQ too good luck

i was told that i shouldnt run one of these alone? because that way they are set up they do better as a pair. i was hoping to just buy one to replace the sub i already have. have you heard any thing about this?
    A shopper on Dec 23, 2014
Best Answer: If the amp you are using is running the same RMS as the subs at the lowest ohm that the amp accepts. Matching the single subs ohms. Then yes this sub will be a great replacement even as one. Depending on your preference of bass tones will be a huge factor in this subs performance in a sealed or ported. Ported will be louder with less watts. But in my opinion the sealed box will give a deeper cleaner bass. . So if your amp is stable at 2 ohms then one of these speakers ran parallel will be perfect. But if your amp is stable at 1 ohm then yes 2 speakers is the way to go. Let's say your amp is stable at 1 ohm 1000 watts. If you run 1 speaker at 2 ohms you will only be getting half the power out of your amp. Might add well run two in that scenario

    Jason C on Sep 24, 2014
    Best Answer: Hello Jason,

    Just about all the enclosures we carry are Pre-Fab Universal enclosures, and NOT model specific; so be prepared to - at most - widen the opening. Luckily, the Atrend 12DQV is looking like a perfect fit, based on the specifications from both Pioneer and Atrend;

what is the difference between the pioneer ts-w310d4 and the pioneer ts-w3003d4 sub ?
    ken s on Jan 1, 2015
Best Answer: Enter an anUpgraded to these subwoofers from the TS-W310D4 (400W rms) and these are rated at 600W rms, so that's an increase of 50% rated power.
These subs are dual 4 ohm, so each can be wired to 2ohm and 2 of these subs can be run at 1ohm if you have a 1ohm stable amp, which is how I run it.
I did a direct comparison of 1x TS-W310D4 vs TS-W3003D4 and there is an increase in output. Can't say that it is 50% more, but the bass is deeper and slams harder, really.
I recommend this subwooferswer to this question.

    Power Acoustik BAMF-20001D
Best Answer: People two or three subs because the amp WILL push two or three. I have the same 2000 BAMF1 amp pushing two L7 10s. They are 800RMS a piece. When talking about amps you can never really have two much I'd prefer to have an amp rated for more power so you can keep the gain kinda low and still push the sub to its potential, but that's just me. If your just pushing that pioneer go with this amp, it will do justice. If you plan on two subs or more. I would go with the 40001D BAMF, because that has a bridge option and it's not to much more expensive than the 2000 BAMF. More bang for the buck is always better. And that 4000 watt pounds man.

Best Answer: No. It won't ruin anything as long as it is properly grounded and everything is wired correct. As far as power is concerned, you may have to run a capacitor or do a big 3 upgrade or both if you wish to stop dimming lights and to just make your electrical system work more efficiently.

Can I wire two of these Subs to a monoblock amp at 2ohms and it be safe and stable?
    A shopper on Jan 28, 2015
Best Answer: No, there are only 2 ways that 2 4ohm speakers can be wired. 4ohm or 2ohm load is your only wiring options. I have 1 12" of this sub wired at 2ohms to my mono amp, pushing a constant 600rms and it beats pretty good. Only thing is I'm starting to smell fried wires after a while and I've had this speaker for a little over a year. for the price I didn't expect it to last too long but it's holding up very well. I would imagine that two of these speakers hooked up at 2 ohms would be awesome.

are these pioneer w3003d4 12 inch subs better than a jl audio 12 w3 ?
    A shopper on May 20, 2015
Best Answer: I can tell you that these Pioneer subs are extemely strong and a tremendous value for the money. To be honest, I find it hard to imagine that the JL Audio could be worth the extra $300 or $400. The Pioneers pound as hard and clear as 99% of all subs in my opinion. I have 2 of the Pioneer TS-W3003D4 subs in an enclosure powered by the smallest amp Belva makes....the 2000 series......And it is astounding. It sounds like a $3,000 system. I like it so much that I am buying the same combo for my second vehicle! The Pioneer Champion Pro speakers are a little more costly and have a wider range of bass if you feel the need to shake your car and the one next to you though. I hope this helps!

Best Answer: The subs can handle the power. Keep them @ 1 ohm. Make shure your gain is set properly and turn the bass boost OFF. Use the bass remote for better control. If you are using a ported box, set the phase to reverses if the ports are away from you. If you are using a sealed box, set the phase to reverse if the woofers are facing the front of your car. Believe it or not, you will burn the coils faster in 4 ohms. Good luck.

Best Answer: If you have the few extra dollars, get the tsw3003d4. It will take the 500 rms all day and you will not need to worry about burning it. Plus with that type of power you can go ported and move the speaker good. ....What I have learned in what I call the made in china age... it's not the 90s anymore. So make sure the speaker has I'd say 10 to 20 percent higher rms rating then the amps rms rating unless you don't mind burning out subs left and right

what is the best amp to run 2 of these subbs?
    Zack C on Apr 9, 2015
Best Answer: Try to find an amp that puts out true 1,000 watts at 1 ohm, then wire the subs accordingly. Dont forget the warm-up phase. I ran mine at 4 ohms for a couple weeks to warm them up, then switched to 1 ohm wiring. My amp was a hifonics 1500 watt amp at the time. It was a little too much for the subs.

    Belva BB2000D
Best Answer: It looks like the Belva BB2000D is a good match for those subs. You would run the subs in parallel (running the voice coils in parallel will bring them down to 2 ohms since they are dual voice coil subs, and running both subs in parallel will bring the pair down to 1 ohm). The RMS rating of the amp at 1 ohm matches the RMS rating rating of the pair of subs, so that should be perfect! Good luck!

    Pioneer GM-D9601
Best Answer: Positive from one voice coil to positive on a voice coil on the opposite side of the sub then negative from that same starting voice coil to negative on the other side. The spare positive and negative that you didn't put wires in on one side of the sub you will do positive front that to the positive on the amp and negative from Sun to negative to amp. And that's it. You will have a positive and negative terminal open on one side which is okay. This setup will have your 4ohm dual voice coils running at 2ohms. For diagrams you need to Google parallel 4ohm dual voice coil with 2 ohm load. Your sub can only handle 2ohm or 8 ohm loads and of course you want more power so you are looking for a 2 ohm load for your 4ohm dvc. Let me know if you need anymore help

    Hifonics BRX2400.1D
Best Answer: The brz 2400 is to powerful for the subs your looking at, the subs are 600watts rms each that's 1200watts rms total. the brz2400.1 is 2400rms rms. That's 2times the amount the subs need to move. Your looking for a 1200.1 amp. Your subs wire 1ohm or 4ohm. If you wire the subs to 1ohm and get a 1200.1(RMS) amp you'll be fine. Or if you wire the subs to 4ohm and get the brz2400.1 you'll be fine. (The second option is a waste of money).

Best Answer: Well. It freakin pounds in my GMC Acadia. I mean Idk if it's the most powerful bass (I'm not the master of bass's) but it does a hell of a job on a full size suv

this sub highest frequency is rated at 80hz that seems kinda low when compared to other sub woofers. Will this sub be able to hit all ranges of bass high and low? I ask because when i look at other subs in the same category they're rated around 200hz. Why is that? Thanks

Best Answer: Hey bro, I was concerned about the same thing when I was looking into this subwoofer but no need. Really what would matter the most is the box, I just have a universal ported box I bought a long time ago and I have been very happy with the speaker. I have a frequency maker app on my phone and the sub plays 100hz just fine as well as low 20hz frequencies. I have the sub hooked up to a pioneer mono amp running 600 watts at a 2ohm load.

What sealed box size does the manufacturer recommend for this speaker, and would this speaker perform well in a properly sized sealed box?
    A shopper on Sep 12, 2014
    Best Answer: Hello,

    According to the manufacture;
    Sealed: 1.25 ft^3
    Ported: 1.50 ft^3
    [PER chamber/subwoofer]

These subs will absolute perform well in its intended environment. Assuming you understand the sound you will accomplish by going with a Sealed Enclosure, a pair of these will provide a desirable SQ setup.

Will this TS-W3003D4 subwoofer go well with Pioneer's GM-D9601 amplifier, or will 800W RMS be too much?

    Pioneer GM-D9601
Best Answer: It should be fine. When you tune your amplifier, you almost never need the gain cranked all the way up. This leads to distortion. You always want a little play room between the amp and sub to ensure you wont end up underpowering your subwoofer. Make sure you dont go full blast until the sub is broken in.

The reviews of this sub are compelling. I have only a 4ch Premier amp (PRS-D4100F) that CEA has at 300w RMS @ 4ohms when bridged. Would 300w RMS be enough to drive this sub?

    Best Answer: Hello Jason,

We would say ~300w RMS is Just barely enough to drive what is a very efficient Subwoofer. However, we highly recommend getting into an amplifier that is pushing closer to ~500w; keep in mind, that figure will Only be obtained when at full tilt, which you will rarely achieve and therefore will be at an exponentially lower figure overall.

That, however, is the least of your concerns. The Pioneer TS-W3003D4, specifically, is a Dual-4ohm driver, which means it CANNOT be wired to a 4ohm final impedance - It is impossible. Which automatically makes it NOT compatible with your amplifier.

So, if you wish to stick with that subwoofer, then you need a proper monoblock to drive it with. If you wish to stick with that amplifier, then you need a subwoofer (Single-4ohm or Dual-2ohm) that is asking for ~300w RMS

Are those any improvement on the TS-W3002D4?

I have 2 TS-W3002D4 they seem to unload quite easily (40HZ), I tried different ports, different boxes, etc, on low setups (30-35HZ) they get loud on one frequency and everything else sounds unbalanced.

Are those any improvement, I want to tune them to 30-35hZ and get as low as 25 without unloading.

Note: In the part of the world where I live the only option is to get Pioneers.
