How do I return an item?

Returns are as easy as 1, 2, 3

  1. Print return authorization and shipping-label - Request return authorization online or give us a call. You'll then be able to print the return-shipping label and authorization.Note: Some items require Sonic Electronix's review for return authorization approval.
  2. Prepare your package - Carefully package the items in a shipping box with the return authorization and attach the return-shipping label.
  3. Ship your package - Take the package to any UPS drop-off location and you're done

How do I purchase a shipping label?

After you select return an item, you will have the option to purchase and print a UPS return-shipping label. Return-shipping labels are offered for packages being shipped from within the continental United States.


Who covers return shipping?

You are always responsible for return shipping regardless of the reason, but we only ask that you pay for shipping back to our Louisville, KY facility. If you wish to save time and money, we invite you to purchase your return shipping label through our website in which you can take advantage of our company's discounted rate. In addition to offering free shipping on most items, we'll replace your item and ship it back to you for free as long as your item is returned during our 60 day guarantee. Merchandise replaced after our 60 day guarantee is subject to additional shipping costs.


What can I return within 60 days?

Within 60 days of purchase, you may return like-new, unused merchandise. Like-new condition means that the item is seemingly new and shows no signs of use.


60 days have passed, what are my options?

After 60 days, we're still here to help for a full year from the purchase date on defective items. Your options include a repair or replacement, depending on manufacturer restrictions. Request a return authorization and you'll see how easy it is. If an item was purchased new, it will usually qualify for a one year warranty, sometimes longer. If we're authorized with a manufacturer your warranty can be pursued through them directly. In instances where we instead offer a Sonic Electronix warranty please contact us directly so we can arrange your repair. You can determine which warranty you qualify for by viewing the product's "Features and Specs" tab and scrolling down to the "Warranty and Return Policy" section.


Do I need to keep my item packaging and shipping box?

We recommend you keep the item's packaging material (e.g. manufacturer's box, manual, accessories and paperwork). We also suggest that you keep the shipping box and packing materials until your items are out of warranty as our policy is a whopping 365-days, and you never know if you'll need that stuff.


When will I get my refund?

After we receive your return, please allow us 3-5 days to process your return. Following that, most refunds take 2-3 days depending on your payment method. Refunds are issued to the same form of payment that was used in the original transaction.


What is "like-new" condition?

Like-new condition means that the item is seemingly new and shows no signs of use.

Items not in like-new condition include, but are not limited to: items missing original item packaging, opened software or media items, used items, installed items, abused or physically damaged items, items missing parts, items damaged due to improper return shipping, items with a different serial number or defaced serial number.

Sonic Electronix may refuse a return or charge a restocking fee when the returned item is not like-new.


Can I send back used or incomplete product(s)?

Any merchandise that is used may be returned within 60 days of purchase, although less a 10% processing fee when sent back complete. If used product(s) returned incomplete, you will not be eligible to receive a refund; instead, a non-refundable Store Credit would be extended less all applicable fees. The deduction is dependent upon the value of the part(s) that we did not receive.


What is the return policy on Open Box items?

An Open Box item refers to an item which has been opened or used by another customer and returned to Sonic Electronix in like-new condition. Such items are still covered by our 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee and 365-Day Coverage unless otherwise noted on the item page.


What is the return policy on Refurbished items?

A Refurbished item refers to an item that has been sent back to the manufacturer for repair and remanufacturing to make it work as new. Such items are still covered by our 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee and a 90-day warranty period unless otherwise noted on the item page.


How long is my return period on a replacement or repaired item?

The 365-Day Coverage begins on the original purchase date and passes through to any subsequent replacements or repairs.


When should I report lost or damaged merchandise?

We pride ourselves in our ability to deliver merchandise directly to your door. We understand that packages can occasionally become lost or damaged, but for that reason we insure every shipment that leaves our warehouse. In the event something were to happen to your order, please contact our Customer Commitment Team immediately; these situations must be reported no later than 10 calendar days from the shipment date.


What happens if my shipment is returned to sender?

In the event a shipment is returned to sender (RTS) we will charge or deduct $15. Since return services are not free we require you to cover the return cost. A package can be RTS for many reasons including customer refusal, insufficient address, failure to obtain a signature confirmation, etc. By placing an order you are responsible for the information provided to the shipping courier and to be available to receive your merchandise upon delivery if necessary.


How long does it take to get a refund or Store Credit?

When sending back product(s), you first want to consider the transit time from your location to our Louisville, KY facility. That information can be obtained through your tracking number or shipping courier. Once the package arrives into our warehouse, it takes one to two business days processing time; since we receive RAs in pallets, we make every effort to check in your merchandise in the order received. Upon completion of our processing, the credit is then issued. Store Credit is available for immediate use; refunds take 3-5 business days to appear available back onto your account, depending upon the financial institution.


Are taxes or shipping refundable?

Domestic sales tax (therefore CA or KY residents, since that’s the only states that apply) will be reimbursed upon any return. Foreign customs, duties and taxes however are a government incurred expense and entirely outside of our business; those charges are non-refundable through Sonic Electronix. All shipping expenses are non-refundable once the services are utilized by the courier.


When should I report a missing part(s) from my order?

You are responsible for inspecting your shipment and ensuring all the contents came included upon delivery. Any missing part(s) claim must be submitted within 10 calendar days from the shipment date.


How do you replace returned merchandise?

In most cases, returned merchandise is replaced with new product(s). There are a few cases where we complete replacements with like-new, refurbished or open-box product(s). We don't test new product, however all other item conditions are verified to be completely operational.
