I just installed the ddx512 today and WOW is all I can say
great display on DVD playback and the sound is fantastic !!
I have the factory sub in my 05 f150 and this unit gave me alot more
bass than the factory headunit. The iPod cable works with my iPhone and
well worth the 29 bucks. If your on the fence about this unit buy it you will be very happy with it !!! I gave it 5 stars on Durability just because of the kenwood name

This stereo head unit is the best one i have ever purchased and I love that it is touchscreen. videos look good, some distortion nothing to bothersome. This is a great head unit. Good sound, awesome dvd playback and fast shiing from the suplier. Only downside is this unit, is heavily outdated compare to newer ones on the market. for relatively the same price, you can find another updated version.
Go newer, but if u really like this one, its great!

Very good radio for the price. greatly improves reception and sound on the Bose speakers. Make sure to get the current software on the product website so it can read a larger USB drive. No complaints so far and I've had it over 6 months now.

I've had this in for about 6 months now. The interface took a while to get used to, but now it is easy and intuitive to use. Sound quality is decent. Nothing amazing, but much better than stock. Basically, you get a lot of stereo for the price. You can find better, but you'll pay more. You definitely won't find anything better for a lower price.

I finally reached the end of the Internet while comparing the many decks I bad to choose from. The DDX-512 seemed to get the best reviews more often than not. How can you go wrong with all the optional add-ons. The screen quality is great and had more power than my last deck. A definite buy rating if you ask me. One of my favorite features is the zone control. The kids can listen and watch their movies in the back while my iPod plays in the front. Love it!

After receiving a quote from an audio installer I found this radio priced out $300 less here. I have only installed one other radio myself and found it to be remarkably easy to install. I had some challenges with my factory wiring harness and understanding the colored wires but the directions were good and with some help from the forum pages of my car I was able to get it installed. If you decide to later choose the Blue Tooth module and the Sirius you do not need the switcher box as I was told to purchase. There is a pass through and you can piggy back them. Again read all the directions carefully. Once fully installed I am amazed at how many features this radio has. I learn something new every time I glance through the book. It makes my stock speakers sound awesome. My phone pairs with the radio's bluetooth and I can make hands-free calls. It also plays my music stored on my phone. DVD'S sound like you are at the theatre!!!! If you do not have navigation already then get the nav model. Garmin navigation is awesome. I like the separate buttons for volume and source features. The other model boasts a 7 in screen but the volume button is absolutely too small and this model also have a front loading AV in port. It takes a little while to get used to touch screen but once you get used to it you can easily navigate and drive at the same time. For the money this was a great investment. Sonic has excellent customer support where you get to speak to a human.

Great unit. Installed in my '06 Tacoma, with Sirius, ipod cable, NAV, backup camera. All the interfaces to each accessory is perfect. Love the ipod control. There isn't a feature this thing is lacking. Full audio control. Love the unit. Highly recommended especially for the price. I installed without an amp and new speakers and it still performs excellent.

I just installed this unit in my car and I love it. the User Interface is awesome and with the Firmware Update the Ipod Cable works with my Iphone, which is awesome. If you looking to spend $400.00 this is the one you want and the Customer Service I received from Sonic Electroix was worth more than I paid.

Installed easily with well labeled and sufficient lengths of wire. Has lots of expandability options like navigation, bluetooth, ipod adapter, xm/sirius/hd radio. Great product for rearview camera as it allows you have the camera video input on while listening to music. Easy to use file reading system for mp3 CDs. Nice button/screen color adjustability. Touch screen works well and has a crosshair when you touch it, like a mouse pointer. Has 1 additional audio/video input in addition to camera video input. Only has 2 sets of amp preouts, front and rear/subwoofer. Subwoofer preout has adjustable level in menu if selected over rear preout. Good product overall. Hard to beat quality for the money.

This thing is sweet for the price you get it for it has and does anything i need and want from a head unit. I have subwoofers and watch movies on it. It looks and sounds prefect this is the one you want by far!!!!

If you plan on running your speakers off the deck, this stereo will work great. If you plan on adding an amplifier for a sub and run speakers off the deck, again, it'll work great. If you plan on having a mids/highs amplifier and a subwoofer amplifier, you're out of luck. Kenwood cheaped out of including an extra subwoofer out jack, and thus decided to make the head unit "share" it's rear RCAs between rears and subwoofer. If you try to add both types of amps, you're out of luck. You either get full frequency and no control of the subwoofer, or low frequencies and control of the sub(s). Kenwood tech support is of no use, basically suggested I don't use my amp and run the speakers off the deck, or split the signal off the front channels to all the channels on the mids/highs amp - Anyone looking for a $500 dollar stereo with no Fade control, this one is for you. I'm stuck having to run a line converter on the stereo itself to get additional preamp outs and subwoofer control... Had I not had the Sirius stuff and very good luck with my old kenwood deck (great recommendation at the time from Sonic), I would have probably bought something else... or even if I knew about this issue...

I just got this and installed yesterday, let me say for the price your CANT beat this deck, has everything the more expensive decks have and is fully expandable. If you might want Nav later and dont want to pay know there ya go, if you want any add on as far as sat. radio or bluetooth its great (i got the bluetooth for this unit also and it is nice for us california people for the July 1st new law). The sreen is bright the movies look great, has alot of customizable options, and sounds very good. Has all the outs you need and video out for any tv's in the back. The usb is great and ipod controls are perfect. If you are thinking about getting this unit go for it...and Sonic is great with there customer service also..big props there.

I just purchased this from sonic electronix.All I have to say is WOW.I love this indash.I don't have all of the stuff to make some of it work,yet,but I'm sure I will.Although I am replacing the factory speakers it did wonders for them.It made them sound 100% better.I'm still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles but I am so glad I bought this indash and from Sonicelectronix.
