I would consider this to be a good product for the price. If you want more of a bassy hit though I would go ahead and invest in a 1000 watt amp to go with it but because I didn't have the money at the time I went ahead and stuck with it for awhile. The speakers still hit hard and are still working solid six months later. It just came with a weak amp.

Very pleased with how this turned out! I received my package and got everything installed in under 30 minutes (minus wiring). Other people have stated that they have had problems with the amp overheating or the wiring melting. All of this can be VERY easily prevented by simply using 4awg wiring versus the supplied "10awg" (which it definitely is not) I purchased a completely separate wiring kit for about $26 from another site (RCA's + remote, ground, power + fuse, and speaker wire). Everything after that has worked beautifully. I get a fantastic sound inside my sedan but one can always use more watts! I plan on upgrading soon from the supplied 600w to a 1000w amp. Those are my only recommendations. Best of luck!

I bought this product at a black friday sale back in 2008. In terms of wiring, I parallel wired and bridged the two subs (i assume the subs share the same enclosure space, so wiring them to the two different channels would not be the best). This is what I've observed in the 11 months I've owned this product:

The bad:
--the amp died in March after only about 5 months of operation,
--constantly overheated
--no bass/gain remote
--the power wire included melted after use

The good:
--the subs still work with a different amp
--great for beginners for the price

Overall:
The subs were really the only good thing about this product...it was horribly underpowered by a little amp that couldn't. However, it bumped great after I wired it to a Power Acoustik 1200W amplifier. If anything, i'd probably recommend getting a better amp for the subs and using the included amp to power your speakers. Other than that, this product is good for anyone who wants to get some bass for a rather low price.

Also, for some reason my hi-lo converter melted while using this product, but with a second hi-lo converter these subs continued to work fine.

for the price you cant beat it if your just starting. it gives a decent thump inside car but not very much outside your car. whatever you do though DO NOT use the supplied wiring kit. The 10 gauge power wire isnt even true 10 gauge, its the same size as my rockford fosgate 16 gauge speaker wire, it just has real thick insulation to make it look like 10 gauge....and i actually used it to power the amp... now thats pretty sad. honestly though if your goin for a package deal id get one of those mtx or kicker packages for a little more...

this is a decent package.. it not too loud and will hardly shake ur car.. if ur looking just to add a lil bass to your car this is perfect. but if not just get a set of kickers or pioneers spend the money you do get what you pay for and theres a reason its so much cheaper

I got these subs a few weeks ago for my civic em2.
theyre pretty loud, shake door panels and trunk, cant see out of rear view when cranked. The wiring was garbage- a new wiring kit is essential. this is my first system and im happy, got the package for 130. i plan on getting a new amp soon bc this one only pushes 400wats. directions were horrible, looked up installation directions online.

These were the first pair or subs that I owned! they lasted me to this day!! I loved these! they gave just enough thump to really get me into the whole subwoofer world. I did end up upgrading, i've been through alpines, audiobahn, and now currently have T2's but never would've gotten into the bass universe if it wasn't for these subs. I would certainly recommend these to any one wanting some thump. The Amp is really straight forward in adjusting the gain and so forth. Everything still works to this day, I've actually passed these down to my brother to try and get him interested

The worst I have ever had. I bought these a few weeks ago and the freaking blew out within 2 1/2 weeks after they were installed. I advise ANYONE who plans on buying this to rethink because they are very fragile, they blow easily so be careful. I own a pair of 12" JL AUdio's so I must say its More beneficial to spend more money because you really get what you pay for, REALLY!

If your a rookie to bass buy this. Only because, when you hear somebody else that has a louder system than yours, it would make you wanna get a better system. This system might seem loud at first if you never heard somebody with some real bass.. This Visonik system just make you wanna upgrade..

This was my first system, when I was 16(I'm only 17 now)... Everything is included and instructions are well enough to perform a self-install. I enjoyed the product for the 7 months that I owned it. It held up well and nothing gave out. Would recommend this for anyone looking to start off with a system while on a low budget.

I used to own the package deal the subs are top notch and so is the amp the down fall of them is the sub box is way to small they sounded great in a larger sealed box box I used was 34 inches wide 14 inches tall 18 inches deep and they hit hard but I sold them to a friend after I up graded and made a nice profit and I never used the amp wiring kit because 10 wire isn't enough to even power up anything

For the price, you cant beat it. But I have had better, this is just for some thump. I bought these and put them in a Crown Vic. Too small for the car. The amp is low powered, even when bridged. I hooked up a bigger amp, and got a good beat out of them, but the distortion is horrible, and I'm not even runnin more then 400 watts max to each sub. The lows arent there and its just a starter or for grandma, like everyone else is saying. I plan on replacing the subs for some nicer NAME BRAND ones.

My friend had this in his '88 Dodge Ram Charger and it hit pretty good. I really liked them in his truck. Someone stole the amp that came in this package and he hooked it up to a 1200 watt Sony Explode amp and it sounded nice.

this system for the price is probably your best bet if you dont want to spend that much money. the subs hit pretty well although you can use a lil more power with the amp. the amp wire kit is awful however,so youre gonna have to purchase a new one. all in all, this is a pretty good deal for evreything for only 160.

i was looking for a light sub system and I love V-tech already. These dual 12's hit ever note plus the amp has a high,low and dual filter so you can actually hear the words in the subs. The only bad this is the amp kit SUCKS. no really it does. For example the power cable is 16 Gauge. Its probally less then that, around 24, so do not rely on the free amp kit. Go buy it separatly.

I first bought these when i had a 92 Pathfinder. Now Pathfinders have a lot of room in them and on top of that my back latch was closed so i really couldnt even hear them. When i got rid of the truck i gave them to my little brother (he haslike a 1990 mustang) and they sound amaizing in his car. So if u got a small car and no money buy these. if u got some money to spend dont even worry about these cheap things. O yea make sure u buy another amp kit cuz the one it comes with, WILL catch on fire.

i've seen how everyone is like "this system HITS!" well thats because they havent heard a REAL system. i will admit though that for the price this package is just about the best you'll get. It was my starter package and I thought it was great! And then i heard some REAL bass. haha. These subs are great to start with because it adds that bump you want and it lets you get started in the bass world. I'd recommend upgrading fairly soon though.

This was my first subwoofer system and I think if you are just getting started with sound systems than these are the way to go. For a sealed box they hit pretty hard but I do think they could perform a lot better in a ported box and a more power full amp. They did manage to make my car shake a little bit and did make some of my neighbors mad so I was pretty happy with them. They also do look pretty cool.

My girlfriend has this exact system in her 2001 nissan xterra and it sounds pretty good......considering the price. The subs are great but the amp is a little weak. I replaced the amp with a JL 250/1 and am amazed at the difference. Good bass package, great price. Overall a good value.

Love the 12", 1000 Watt system!

I listen to a variety of music like Dream Theater, Metal Church, ICP, and even classical music like Grieg & Tchaikovsky. This system simply ROCKS! People are always amazed at how loud it is. I don't use the "bump" sound all that much but when the double bass drum kicks in, it's "there".

I got this in conjunction with the four way Pioneer TS-A1681R 6-1/2" 4-Ways & a Pioneer Pioneer DEH-P77DH Supertuner III indash and that's it.

Not sure how anyone could complain! I can't move the volume knob up past "50" when it stops at "62" because it's so loud it'll run you out of the car!!

Oh and they shipped it with all of the hardware necessary to install it. I've got a 93 Saturn SE and it literally makes a world of difference.

I was sooo happy just like ne other person when they got their new subs. i opened the package and the box (the sub box) crushed on one side. the speakers and the subs work fine, the instalation kit is a lil small, i would recomend a better one. other than the sub box being crushed before i can even hook them up the system is ok. they thump nice, they're not hard enough to blow ur ears off your head, but they will be heard outside your car.

I just got this the other week and it's been hooked up for a few days and I must say I'm fairly pleased. If you're looking for a system that will make you heard blocks from your house, don't get this, well get a better amp to go along with it. The subs can handle 1000w I guess and the amp only pushes 400w. But when you crank it to a decent volume on the inside you can feel the bass on every hit in a song. All my passenger in my Cutlass say it gives them a massage haha. So if you're looking for a good starter system I highly reccomend this, and then at a later point you can upgrade to a more powere amplifier.

i just got a this item and they are good. when im sittin in my car it thumps real hard. but the only problem i had is tat the amp is kinda weak. when u hook it up to both subs it doesnt bump that good. but when i hooked it up to one sub it kiks a$$. i think all u need it a more powerful sub. but if u are on a budget like i was this is a great system. u get a lot of bang for ur buck

Just recieved this package doesn't sound to bad but it needs a better amp. I would try to run it bridged to try to push out a lil more but can't figure out what ohms the speakers are running at and I can't figure out what the amp can handle. I take it the amps probably 2ohm stereo and 4ohms bridged. If anyone knows what the voice coil ohms are on these subs let me know. I can;t find this info anywhere and I don't want to take apart the box.

This is a decent starter package, but I would not recommend you keep this package for too long. They worked great for about the first 6 months that I owned them, they hit decently and gave me the bass that I needed. They never really got the low notes like they should have though. Recently the amplifier started smoking on occasion, and one of the subs have blown now. They quickly turned from a sound system that hits 127.5 DB to a low-level crap system that should have never been manufactured. I almost feel ripped off by Visonik, because I was one of the guys who paid 400 dollars to a car audio shop for these. If you are big on car audio, and its a must for you, I recommend the Alpine type R subs, with an Alpine amp, cant go wrong with those. The Alpines cost a little more, but are built with a higher quality than Visonik's package deal.

These subs are phenominal. They hit so hard compared to my MEGA SOUND 15" subwoofers. I bought the 15" at kragen auto parts for $21.99 each. I have two of them. The 12" i just bought are really good. I recommend this to anybody. My cousin has 3 kicker 18" square subs in the back of his denali it cost him 8,000 dollars to set up the whole thing. He bought three amps 20,000 watts each they were 4000 dollars. He has gone through 3 sets of windows. They all shatter. The 12"s are an excellent deal for the money!

Well holy shit!!!! i have a hatch back and i have the subs faceing the seats the car HITS soo hard i couldn't ask for anything better. Amp is only 400w but it still bumps hard with it. Overall i will give this a 5/5. And remember i sat in the car with my volume at 10 max 40 and it hits soo hard i got a headace with in like 2 mins.

First off, im a high school student. That being said, i dont have a whole lot of money! Doin some research, i ran across this, and i was scepticle at first. Let me tell everyone, this system is AWESOME for the money. This setup is way better (and louder) than my friends Sony setup. It sounds spectacular w/ any type of music (once u mess around w/ the EQ's) from inside the car. If u are listening to rap and crank it, you can get the trunk rattling a bunch, but in general, the people INSIDE the car will appreciate it the best. I got this package about 2 months ago and have loved it! All my friend sit in my car and say how loud it is and are surprised when they see what i have and how cheap i got it! Its definately a GREAT BUY!! I hooked it up to my 2000w Legacy Amp and there was no distortion! It sounded very good! i got this system about a month ago and its been great. i put it into my 2003 civic and its hit extremely hard. This product packs alot of punch for the price. It includes all the neccensials for a entry level stereo system and it does so in a good way. My friend came to me and asked if I would do a system for him, on a pretty decent budget because we are college students. I did some research for a "ALL-IN-ONE" package such as this, for under 200 dollars and this is what I came up with. At first, I was a bit skeptical whether it would 'bang' for the price. After we got everything installed and running, I was absolutely stunned it was as loud as it is, and in turn we had a pretty decent little setup. The car was no show car, but what do you expect for under $200? For under $200 you get your amp kit, amp, box, and subs along with some extra added features.

Bottomline: If you are on a budget, need some "thump in the trunk" and, don't have the patience to build a box and waste money on amp kits etc etc. This is definetly the package for you. I dare you to compare.

Over all i think this is a great product except for one feture. The Amp. I think these subs look greate, and they can support up to 1000 watts but sadly the amp cannot. The amp seams like it can only support 400 watts max(it wont say on the amp). I tried emailing both Visonik and Sonic electronix but i dont recive a verification on the total power the amp can support.(Wonder why???) But I think it is a grat deal when you just look at the subs, pluse if you want you could buy a stronger amp and sell the other or use it for midrange,tweters etc. By the way the amp shown in the photo is not the one you get.It's smaller.

We are also under the assumption that the amplifier is not a full 1000 watts amplifier, but we can only list according to the manufacturer of the product. At this time, Visonik does not include exact amplifier power ratings (we also have "curiously" asked them, but we receive an answer of "we have yet to rate the amp").
