I use it in my car ,truck and Motorcycle(with ear piece)..Hard wired on the motorcycle..

The unit is not waterproof, just be careful of that on a motorcycle.

It works great, has never failed me, except when not plugged in. Always spot on, but give lots of false readings, better safe than sorry though. Lots of X band around hospitals, banks, and ATMs, sometimes shows LASER when no cops are around. Overall it works great.

I purchased the Bel Bector 955 for long trips and it has worked very well with few false alarms. It is easy to use and reliable. Consumers guides rate if high for its price.

My first bel detector lasted at least 15 years then the speaker quit. Really got my moneys worth out of that one and expect the same with this one :) great product!!

I have owned the Vector 955 for 6 months now, and I still think it was the best purchase of the year. They pay for themselves the first time you hit your brakes when the radar goes off.

It picks up radar over hills, around corners, in the rain and snow. Most of the time it will easily give you enough time to get from 75 down to 55, and that is before the cop comes into sight.

The beeps themselves are rather annoying, a friend has a similarly priced model from another company with a more mild beeping.

I suggest buying another cord to run from the plug to the unit, one of the ones with a mute switch. The mute switch does work with this model, at least on the cord I bought.

I've owned a number of radar detectors, since the inception of the very first fuzz buster. This is my 3rd Bel, and I'm not disappointed. Plenty of warning for most bands. My only complaint is that i get a lot of false signals on the Laser band when i am driving towards a sunset. Other than that, I don't think you can buy a better unit for less.

This is the best radar detector to get for under $200. I love it. It has helped me out a lot in the city and on the highway and has proven its worth. Excellent for someone who has never owned a radar detector before.

Good performance, middle priced.
Works much better than many other cheeper ones I have - I set them all up on my dash for about a week. It won hands down. It's very good looking ahead and around the hills & corners, good enough for me, better ones cost ALOT more.
