discontinued and replaced...Why?
I've owned 4 of these in 15's very very snice strong subs should've or could've been sold for an extra $200.00 more maybe the popularity is why it was sold for a lot less.If they hadn't replaced them I would've been happy to do a hair trick video with those subs for nothing..free ad since I saved a bunch already by getting them..

I purchase a pair of these from sonic and these things are slamming. I mean really slamming.I have them hooked up to a xxx 4000 soundstream and they are shaking my car apart. These things can take some power. They have my mazda swelling. Its a pitty that sonic does not sell them anymore. I think they are making a big mistake. These things worth way more than they are selling for. Best buy you will ever make.

it took me a year and some change just to find the perfect amp and perfect box for this sub.. this is truly 1 of a kind and in my opinion should be worth alot more than what its offered... like the guy posted under me.. this is a very big mistake they are doing by discontinuing the SPLW... its just stupid... and they replaced it with the.... Gorilla if i'm not mistaking and could never match up to the SPLW... if u do not have this sub... its sad to say that u truly missed out on something special ; (

I just ordered this beast and i am very pleased with it. i have it hooked up to the SPL 2400D running it at 1 ohm and this thing slams in my 1995 ford escort. i have had it for one day now and the people from THREE STREETS away already came over to yell at me. Before this sub i had two Alpine Type X 12in subs in a single slot ported box. i could run those at 1 ohm at full tilt and my car would run fine. Now with this MONSTER i have to replace all my 4-gauge wires with 0-gauge and add a battery because my car can't handle it.... I definitly recomend this sub. great buy at this price.

This is a really powerful, durable subwoofer. It has dual one ohm voice coils, which gives you more options when it comes to wiring it to an amplifier. I had this woofer hooked up to a Power Acoustik PS1-2000D amplifier running at about 1200 watts rms. The problem was I had only one set of voice coils hooked up running at about 500 watts rms past the coils limit, not both sets. The voice coils that were hooked up to the amplifier blew after about 3 or 4 days. Unlike me, if you know what your doing when hooking up this amplifer, go for it. But if you don't know how to wire dual voice coils at 1 ohm, go for a woofer with single voice coils instead.

This sub can put out some good bass and looks mean they lasted about 6months of daily driving abuse and then acted like the voice coils burnt. I them apart to get a better look the lead wire burt just under the cone after re-soldering them they work again.

i had 2 of these subs, yes they bang out hard, but u better know how to wire them up right, remember they r dual 1 ohm coils, if ur amp can't go down to a 1/4 ohm, then u should buy only one, and u have to wire up both coils or u will fry the sub.
