I purchased this Sherwood SWH-672 Subwoofer to connect to my VIZIO Sound Bar, which has a mono sub-out (RCA) It came without a connection cable. Now is where it gets interesting..... There was NO owners/operation manual, only a warranty registration form. I visited the Sherwood web-site and the subwoofer was distinctly marked "New", so at least I assumed it was not a discontinued model. It was also specified (on the web-site) that it was designed to operate in the mono mode, but there are two RCA plugs only on the back of the unit (Red and White), My sound bar has only one RCA sub-out. It is AC powered and marked on the box 150 watts RMS.
So, I believe it is a well designed subwoofer, but the label to operate in mono mode and the red and white (I think designates stereo) seem to contradict each other. I don't want to harm it by trying 1/2 of inferior patch cords, etc., so now it serves as a beautiful piece of black furniture until I gain more documentation or informaiton about it's operation.
Sorry if this review is just sharing a bad experience, but I don't have anything else except my assumption that it is probably an excellant product as it is designed and engineered by HSU Reasearch and is beautiful piece of furniture. Maybe I'll put a plant or vase on it? :-)

to the bottom review. you say the sub is mono and has a red and white plug. what you need to get is a monster brand or any other brand subwoofer cable that has a red/white rca for subwoofers on one side of cable and a regular mono sub jack on other side, you can buy at best buy or radio shack if sonic does not have, thanks.

It wil be fine off of your sub to just one input on the sub. They have two for those cases where you have to hook the sub to pre-amp "out" jacks that are stereo, but the sub itself is always mono. Use it and enjoy your new found bass!
